One of the better pandemic fights for sure. I imagine Canelo will chop Smith down with brutal body shots but it's worth buying an 8 pack of guinness and staying up for. Happy days!

Plenty of DAZN loot for this fight but not for me - DAZN nights will be similar to Sly Box Office down at the Angling Club.
If it's a battle of the jabs, Smith will win. Both got excellent jabs but just like when Smith fought Groves, the extra reach will help him win battle of jab. Technical he has excellent jab to go with reach. Technically such a great fight as both have areas they could really exploit in the others game.
Smith's big Advantages imo are: Reach Jab Punch Power His straight right down the pipe. His catch and counter. Bigger man, used to weight. Laid back nature (occasion wont get to him). Canelo's advantages imo are: Boxing IQ Experience Head Movement Body shots (though Smith is outstanding their too). Judges Rehydration clause (bound to be one) Lack of notice for Smith. Mexican Meat.
I'd love Smith to just play it ultra safe, jab and run for 12 rounds and take a UD. I feel like that might be the plan but at some point Alvarez will land on the body, especially later on, I think it will shortly be it when that happens repeatedly.
I’m the same. Always rated Smith but Canelo is going to chop him down. You can’t deter Canelo from coming in, even with the jab. He’s got that peek-a-boo defence, his upper body movement is tremendous where he dodges, parries and rides shots. He’s just brilliant at closing that range, making his opponents miss and landing fast counter shots, particularly those looping left hands to the body. Smith is a very good fighter, but Canelo is elite. Added to that, his team know how to manipulate a contract so everything is in his favour. Smith gets stopped like his brother unfortunately, but credit for jumping in with Canelo.
Canelo is elite, Smith is world class, but has not proven to he elite yet, but after he fights Canelo he will prove he is elite. Everytime Smith has stepped up a level he goes up through the levels. Against Groves he improved his head movement, and showed his boxing IQ. Canelo should be favourite but people are sleeping on Smith in this one. He only doesnt perform when he fights people he is expected to best easy.
Upper body movement is insane. You watch those GGG fights and look how often he made ggg miss. For me you have to try and hit Canelo to the body but it's risky as you become open to hooks from Canelo. GGG was reluctant to throw body shots for a reason.
Smith is getting chopped up and chopped down like an elite level lumberjack taking on a Christmas tree with his finest AXE. A big lanky scouse Christmas tree.
