PBC didn't have enough time to promote it in December. Plus PBC has another PPV show in December (Spence vs Garcia).

Apparently Canelo will sign a 3 fight deal with Al Haymon and maybe we could see Canelo against Plant in May. :chuck:

Why would plant decline a fight with Canelo? It just doesn't make sense for him to without a reason.. And thatt reason is no doubt due to some condition Canelos team want (pathetic Canelo can never fight on an even playing field)

Maybe he just wasnt ready to fight a fight of this size on little over a months notice.

Probably felt fight was too soon on the calendar for him.

Probably because Plant doesn't want to sell his 0 on a 3 week training camp.

Im pretty sure Haymon could line up Quillin to get a short term Canelo beating. He hasn't seen a ring since Danny mopped him up. Should have took that $4 million from Roc Nation.

I get the reasoning but with the world how it is and Benavidez, Berlanga, and Jermall probably all coming soon I think it was time for that 0 to go unless he was so out of shape/overweight it wasn't remotely possible (which would be uncharacteristic).

He really will not. Canelo is going fight by fight to the highest bidder. PBC couldn’t run the PPV as they had no slot. The guarantee was also less than what it’s rumoured Hearn is offering.

rumour has it Canelo is getting same money he would of got previously but now does not have to give GBP their 20% cut and is much happier with the deal. Hearn had also cut his percentage from the smith purse to make the numbers work.

wouldn’t surprise me if there is a matching clause in the contract for next Canelo fight

Actually he has, his last appearance in the ring was last year when Alfredo Angulo mopped the ring with him, I was the only guy that picked with Angulo on the site.:D And I actually gave a reason why.

I read, for whatever its worth, that its because it wasnt enough time to build the ppv the way they want to for that fight.
