It is 5 weeks mate. Still a bit underhand though but may have not had a huge amount of time to organise due to the legal dispute.
Yup. A boxer who is in shape and ready to go, they would have to start camp immediately. 5 weeks to come up with the gameplan and to make adjustments is enough time. But if you have to do promotion, make weight, get in shape... not gonna happen. Boxers rarely are 100% even with full camps, and that 5 weeks would be quite the handicap.
That said and if I’m Plant and have kept the weight in check, it’s madness to turn down if the money is right.
The fight hasn't been made because Canelo gets a perverse pleasure out of dangling and denying Plant the fight he wants. As I do not care for Plant in the slightest, I too share Canelo's revelry.
I don't understand why Plant is being a little ***** about the time frame. Canelo would have literally the same amount of time to prep.
Well, that's his bad. That's twice he's missed out on million dollar paydays. Seems awfully weird. Actually it reeks of "Peter Quillen" when he ducked Matt Korobov and what would have been his biggest payday on the advice of Al Haymon. I'm pretty sure this is the case.
