Is it possible for Crawford to emerge from tomorrow night with any credit?

No one on this thread has called Brook shot to bits.

It will definitely be one of his best victories. It's just that it's 6 years since Brook beat a relevant name.

Hence why I don't think he'll get much credit.

If Brook is game, it's a great fight and that's all I care about

Brook still looks to be a good fighter, but he's a little older now and has been through some wars. My biggest issue, tho, is that he's at an age where dropping weight could severely impact his performance.

Yes. While this isn't prime Brook if Crawford beats him convincingly it will be very impressive.

It'll ultimately depend on how TC looks. Wouldn't be a shocker of Brook gets the first couple of rounds. If TC struggles to a closer than expected win, it'll say something about TC at WW. If he wins by TKO, he beat a guy who has been stopped twice and hasn't had a major win at WW in ages. It is sort of a lose-lose for TC.

But again, we'll see how TC wins. If Brook can turn back the clock some, give TC hell, and still look good in his next fight, that would tell us something about Brook. But that's just a hypothetical for now.

I rewatched that fight yesterday and I wouldn't say he gave him hell but he certainly did ok. The angles and variety of punch selection did cause some problems for GGG. He landed some great shots in that fight.

That Brook would be a problem for Crawford and I really hope we see some of that tomorrow night but I have doubts.

This is a good fight. There's nothing wrong with this fight at all.

Brook is a strong , strapping welterweight who had the balls to move up two weight classes and fight prime GGG at Middleweight and gave a good account of himself before his face caved in during the 5th round. That was a fun fight. Then he goes tit-for-tat with Errol Spence in a dead even fight before his face caves in again.

Kell Brook can box. Crawford will cave in his face eventually but if he puts on his usual clinic against a guy of this quality it'll mean something. It'll be one up over Errol Spence.

I agree with you. Haters will give him NO props AT-ALL. NONE.

I dont agree with the lose-lose situation, though. He will make a very good amount of money because it is a very very good fight. I consider crawford, above everything else, a professional prize fighter. Imho it's very obvious that the reason he fights for, is money. He's 100% a professional, in the strictest sense of the word. He will make a lot of money tomorrow night. And that's good, that's "win".

Yeah and if this was an accounting forum I'm happily share in your delight at the money he makes.

But since this forum is to discuss boxing, and I'm only here to discuss fights, I must say the amount of pay means nothing to me.

It's hard gauging how good Brook still is, he hasn't beaten a ranked guy for 6 years, yet he's only lost twice and both times to men who are held in very high regard.

And since its difficult gauging the ability of Brook, its difficult gauging the amount of credit Crawford should receive.

who cares about brooks ability? haters will give no credit at all to crawford, no matter brooks display of ability.

Plus, the better crawford fights, the less credit he will receive, since brook will look like trash. Exactly as Postal.

I only said that from crawford's point of view it is not a lose/lose situation, because you dont care about money, but I bet he does.

EDIT: if someone is going to get credit for a fight it must be decided BEFORE the fight. Because, as I said, if you fight like god, and the other fighter looks like trash, and you only get credit a-posteriori, then you will never get the deserved credit. To get credit you need to know that the other fighter is awesome, but you destroyed him to the point that he looked like trash. And that's the reason why crawford will get no credit if he wins, nobody thinks that brook is on his peak. Neither do I, btw.

I care about his ability since I'll be paying to watch what I hope is a great fight.

Postal is a great win, Crawford gets tonnes of credit for that. Most people expected Crawford to duck him.

Course he cares about money, it's why he does it.

I disagree with the last paragraph. If Brook goes on to achieve something after Crawford, he can overcome the pre fight doubts as to his ability.

Hell might be an exaggeration but he gave away 2/3 rounds and ate plenty of shots, got levitated by uppercuts. Can’t see Brook having that kind of success against Crawford.
