Is it possible for Crawford to emerge from tomorrow night with any credit?

How does a 40 year old, part-time boxer, fighting 2 divisions higher than his physical size dictates, and former shell of himself cherrypick a guy that's in his physical prime, significantly bigger, undefeated, and 10 years younger? Thurman didn't cash out — dude went to war and took his beating like a warrior. Oh, and he fought extremely hard for 12 full rounds.

Thurman shook off the cobwebs in the Lopez fight. He got caught in one round and schooled Lopez the rest of the way. And Porter fought a Thurman that was badly hurt and almost KO'd by Collazo and had over a year long layoff.

Not how fighting works. A long hiatus in boxing can be a career killer.

Your general drift reminds me of Calzaghe-Lacy.

Before the fight, Lacy was the cleeeeeeaaar favourite...a mini Mike Tyson, and Joe was going to get decapitated.

After the fight..Lacy was a bum.

    And always had been. :D

He won’t get any. People have unrealistic expectations for p4p fighters. After Spence beats Garcia he and Bud need to fight. Bud is gonna leave Top Rank if they don’t get him Spence or at least Pacquaio next.

So let me get this straight, Horn won via a robbery, in a match where the vast majority of non-fanboy rational scorers saw as a razor close match that could go either way, and usually always lean in Horn's direction. No, there's nothing common sense about what you said, that match was not even close to being a robbery. And how about you using a little common sense instead, most boxers who have one subpar showing after a long layoff are not looking to cash out at the age of 30. Because Keith Thurman, like most of the fans on here (except for me, I picked Pacquiao) thought he would still be too fast, fresh and heavy handed for this diminished version of Pacman. Most don't see taking a match they think they can win as a cash out. Pac was just too good for Thurman, and no cashing out, because Thurman though Pac was the cherrypick. Why do I even have to explain this to people?:duh

I thought he looked perfectly fine against DeLuca, especially when you consider DeLuca is a tank who could easily make Middleweight. As far as the match against Zerafa aside from a Cruiserweight Quillin, who exactly has looked good against Zerafa? Horn certainly didn't.

i think this fight will be more exciting than most people think. im thinking brook is back to his best weight and should be in shape to compete. benavidez got bud to mix it up in close and i expect kel to be able to do it too. and kel throws some very nice, tight, fast combinations inside. it wouldnt surprise me if he beat bud to the punch on an exchange. i think bud will win clear enough, but it will make both look good.

I don’t give a hoot about who gets what credit. I just want to see two grown men punch each other in the face. A d I think this will be a good fight.

You questioned how something can mean that Brook is now shot to bits, and that it left you confused.

But I don't think anyone had actually implied that Brook was shot to bits.

It's more the fact that Brook last beat a ranked opponent 6 years ago and right now what is beating him actually going to be worth to a fighters legacy.

Tbf I think it's a high risk low reward fight for Crawford.

Stop with this childish idiocy. I just ****ing told you that it had nothing to do with you. I was just making a statement, I never actually answered your question. But if you want an answer, yeah I agree with you. Rightfully or wrongfully that is the perception.

    Stop getting overly emotional.

You posted in the thread so I replied, it's kinda the way these things work.

The whole point of my thread is debating how credit worthy victory would be.

Because I think Brook has a really good chance of beating Crawford, more so then the odds indicate. But if Crawford does win, on paper I don't think the victory looks too impressive.

If he stops brook he can.

And stop him by a ko. Not tko. That would be a big message.

    Won't happen thought.

I was half asleep when I wrote that, I wasn't even remotely emotional.

    I made a comment/observation, I wasn't looking to have a conversation.
