Brook & Crawford are both under achievers

Both started getting big fights late

Both are 33/34 years old.

Khan is 33 and retired after a long hard career, body is done.

Where were Crawford & Brook when Khan was having big fights through 2010 at his prime weight as young man? NOWHERE.

As people have mentioned boxing is a young mans sport, especially for these lower weight guys. Brook is basically retired & Crawford is talking about retirement.

I keep re-watching this & I'm thinking wow this just might be one hell of a fight.

 

I feel like people didn’t see the Brook-Zerafa fight. That looked like a past his best Kell Brook to me. If my eyes didn’t see that fight I’d be giving him a better shot here. He’s going to need to be his best version of himself to win this fight. And my eyes can’t unsee how average he looked the last time I saw him combined with cutting down the weight and fighting a guy who is going to bang him to the body repeatedly. It’s hard to see an upset here.

I also feel like Top Rank is only putting him in with Brook because they too saw a step slower Brook against Zerafa. Hard to believe they would risk him in the first before Pacquaio or Spence against a guy they really thought could beat him. So to them the timing is right. A relatively big name scalp on ESPN before the big cash fight.

 

If brook can roll back the years he has a chance. Was a legitimate talent back in the day.

Mad that he's only a year older than Crawford. Much more wear and tear and it feels like he's been around forever

 

They didn't get the one way fast track that Khan got. Had to fight their way to contention.

He’s absolutely right. There’s levels to this and Brook has never been close to Crawfords.

 

Getting punched by GGG when you have no right being in the ring with him is bound to add some miles to the odometer. Brook looked slower than ever against Zerafa. Still a good, borderline very good fighter but not the elite one he once was from my eyes.
