While I myself did not appreciate a headbutt watching the fight live, the referee made a clear and immediate call in the 1st round that there was an accidental headbutt. Franco's right eye was completely shut by the end of Round 2. When the doctor determined prior to the 3rd round that Franco could not see out of his right eye, I am sure that Franco was aware that he had lost the first two rounds, and thus that he would not want to fight 4 full rounds, because Moloney would likely have been ahead on the cards after 4 rounds. My problem was when the officials took an absolutely farcical 30 MINUTES to review a small amount of footage from the 1st round. The most important thing is to come to the correct decision. However, if officials found no reason to overturn the referee's in-ring call by a point LONG BEFORE 30 minutes, then the referee's in-ring call should stand. ESPN's attempt at replay the 1st round, oddly without audio, showed Moloney landing one sharp left jab to Franco's right eye area, but that jab did not cause an obvious difference in the before-and-after appearance of Franco's right eye. What ESPN SHOULD have done was show replay with audio, focusing on when the referee made his call of an accidental headbutt, and then determining (1) whether there was an accidental headbutt, and (2) whether it caused any change in the before-and-after appearance of Franco's right eye. IMO Moloney did rake his head across Franco's right eye area a couple times (which the ESPN commentators ignored while showing the replay), and that, together with the referee's in-ring call being what it was, and the officials being unable to overturn it, led to the correct decision of the accidental headbutt call standing, and the fight being ruled a "no contest".

 

I remember years ago, on these boards.. I'm sure there was a conversation about Brook and Khan and maybe something to do with Ramadan and why they couldn't fight at a certain time and some comic genius said..

"Brook is a also a Muslim"

Somebody else replied "No he isn't, why do you think that"

And this little genius said "He is, he walks in to "Allah The Lights"



It was one of the best conversations I've seen on here, the person who said it didn't LOL and post a laughing emoji which made it even greater because you wasn't sure if he was being genuine.
