Current: Bivol. Bivol’s effective in-and-out motion will see him win most of the rounds. As long as he can survive a few big punches, Bivol wins on points. Past LHW: Too many to name school him.
Bivol’s style would give the 35 year old Beterbiev issues. He won’t stand and trade and will constantly be on the move. Bivol takes it on points for me.
Bivol is young and athletic. He’s not the most exciting but is a very good technical boxer. Not sure if he can beat Beterbiev but he’s probably the only guy at LH with a shot. Beterbiev needs to get healthy and fight more frequently. He’s super tough but is getting old and fights so infrequently. I hope this fight can happen in 21. Bivol says he can make 168. I’d like to see him fight Canelo at that weight or any of the top SMWs.
Beterbiev needs to have a very busy 2021. Maybe get some fights in Russia if there are too many restrictions in America. Adam Dienes is penned for January 2021. Joe Smith before Ramadan. Bivol in the last 1/4 of 2021. Maybe in Russia. None of these fights should be too complicated or hard to make. I would love to see the Canelo fight too. With these restrictions, there's no way USADA or WADA can follow Canelo around hoping to jump on him for random p*ss samples.
i was just about to post, canelo. was hoping i would be the only one, actually. only cause on the surface it seems so unlikely, but it really aint.
Skill wise, Canelo is a level above Beterbiev, but Gvozdyk had more skill than Beterbiev too and we all saw how he got broken down and could not stop Artur from coming forwards.
biev is not fast enough to catch canelo clean. right now its a matter of gauging how much of a tank biev still got. hes in his mid 30s and he expends a lot of energy when he swings. canelo is very good defensively. if he can force biev to stay busy while avoiding crippling damage, he can tire him out. once tired, his punches lose the bonebreaking power behind them. then hes a sitting duck, as slow as he is in comparison, and will get beat up.
Beterbiev is a life long student of the boxing game and physiology. Literally that's all these Caucus guys study acadaemically as well as the fight game. Father time will beat Beterbiev, not Canelo.
i guess. dont really know how much meaning that has. i could say, the only thing that beats canelo is size. but im taking everything into account when i predict canelo to beat biev. canelos size, bievs age, their styles, their abilities, strengths and weaknesses. the possible excuses have been factored in to my prediction.
I mean, he was still walking Gvozdyk down in round 10 after taking a lot of shots, not sure what Canelo is going to be feeling like after absorbing a lot of punishment, relentlessly.
