I am not sure that is entirely up to Top Rank. ESPN is a big platform and they likely have the say in when and where TR has a slot.
Then those pay days will dry up and his extended family - who he financially supports - will have to go back to Ma's cooking.
every promoter wants their fighters to promote, if you don't have a gold medal, the promoters give you some free tickets and you got to sell them shits yourself when you start out as a pro, that's how the game works. it sucks
when shakur stevenson got into a street fight where him and his boys were beating on some women, i'm sure their promoters loved that. no such thing as bad publicity
a promoter is there to promote but a fighter should also promote themselves. Social media is a tool fighters should use to put themselves out there. Simple things like being coutside at NBA games, hooking up with popular figures outside the boxing world etc etc. ESPN themselves have the tools to get Crawford out there.
Exactly. Watch round 1 of Pacquiao-Thurman. Then watch round 1 of Crawford-Broken. 40 year old, undersized, semi-shot, part-time Pac goes on the attack against a much bigger, much younger, undefeated foe. Prime Crawford barely throws a punch and eats jabs against the drained and dehydrated corpse of Kell Brook.
What turns away fans and money isn't Bud Crawford, it's Bob Arum's mismatch main events and his garbage undercards. Arum is too selfish for his own good. He's ruining Crawford's career by refusing to put him in with top welterweights.
