If it were only that simple. Byrd is just the symptom of a larger disease. Get rid of him and there is another corrupt puppet right behind him. Boxing needs independent oversight to root out corruption. They technically follow the rules because the crooks change the rules as they see fit. Boxing will always be corrupt if the guys running the alphabet soup organizations are still allowed to stick around. Probably not going to happen but this is the only solution. Otherwise it is business as usual. Fire the low level guys and the high level guys replace them with powerless crooks. Nothing changes but the scum at the top fool people into thinking things have improved. Future of boxing is as bleak as ever.
