Luke Campbell: I Took Something From Lomachenko; Changed Him.

I want some of whatever Luke is smoking.

 

I doubt it. If anything the Linares fight was more taxing.

The thing that really took something out of Lomachenko was natural aging slightly diminishing some of those youthful physical gifts and the shoulder surgery affecting his ability to fire-off and turn over the right hook as well as he used to. And all of these things are compounded by the fact that when he seems to be confronted with a stylistic puzzle producing uncomfortableness, he takes too long to get going and keeps his hands home more than he should.

He may have been great at the lower weights despite never proving it against a truly great fighter, but what we see now is a really solid lightweight who falls well short of any historical significance.

 

Agreed. Lopez had really nice distance control for the first 7 or whatever, but Lomachenko was definitely hesitant to close the gap for fear of a huge counter he wouldn't see coming. I think he tasted something early that caused him to shell up and move around without producing much effective offense.

 

Whatever will make you sleep better Luke, after Loma took your soul.

 

I don’t mind boxers talking smack about guys they fought. It’s hard to be objective when you’ve been in there slugging it out or getting slugged out. Luke has a right to his opinion. Good for him. I don’t have to agree with him.

Like should concentrate on winning a title, rather than a fight he lost against a man who has no business being at that weight.
