Disappointment has become the norm. There's a good chance it doesn't happen next year. If it doesn't though, it has lost relevance.
This is boxing after all, I'm not holding my breath that it happens before they are both shot to smithereens.
I am starting to think no. Wilder is going to **** it up by forcing a fight no one wants. By that time, Joshua has to fight Usyk...
Hearn thinks the Wilder-Fury legal situation is a mess and is talking about orgs having to make decisions about unification priority and Usyk Joshua etc. So reading between the lines, it looks like Hearn isn't overly confident of having it work out soon. And he's usually selling dodgy cars with a grin. It actually looks like it could be obstructed on multiple fronts now. The only thing it has in its favour is the fact it is the biggest money fight and boxing orgs are corrupt. The good news is, the more time that goes by, the more time there is to see AJ get stopped again and destroy AJ's brand for good.
One silver lining would be that if we don't see Fury-Joshua, we will see Joshua-Usyk. I still believe in that fight, even if many have turned against Usyk, and just like Joshua-Fury, it is a fight where I say let the better man win.
I'm going for winter 2021. Let AJ fight Usyk in april/may and hopefully beat him, And fury shuts up wilder in april.
When Fury tests clean and is in shape this fight can happen. Two two are roughly the same age. Joshua because he fights better competition can in theory lose and derail this fight. I don't see any chance of this fight happening early 2021. Maybe late 2021, provided both had a fight before.
Everyone felt Bowe vs Lewis would happen. It didn't. I agree, there is a good chance we do not see this one in 2021. I'm not sure who will lose their spot first. Fury due to his outside the ring habits and inactivity, or Joshua do him fighting better opposition. This post Wlad division has mostly sucked.
If it doesn't happen this year I will be so upset. The idea of 3 unified, undisputed champs is so exciting.
They had me fooled for a while but my initial impression was that this is still a couple of years away, and I'm feeling that's going to still be the case at the end of this month. It's been apparent over the last few weeks that the ridiculous sums the fighters and promoters hope this fight to generate simply don't exist, especially due to the pandemic. Greed will kill the prospects of this happening this year.
