@ Paranoid You know... I've never been proud of Singsurat's victory over Pacquiao. Pac got knocked out on the measure. He was almost a dead man walking in the ring.
I can't fault him for wanting a pay day. But what about proving yourself against good opponents first? How many good fighters did Pac go through before making big money? They want everything so easy now.
Barrera was so ancient against Pac that he knocked down and almost beat JMM four years later. Interesting.
No problem with him getting an huge payday fight but he has been complaining he haven’t been given fights that will cement his legacy. Crawford was very adamant that he wanted Arum to setup a career defining fight. Sorry but Pac ain’t it. If he beats Pac people will say he beat an old boxer long overdue for retirement.
If Spence beats Garcia in the up coming fight then I would like to watch Crawford vs Spence. So, nobody will not complain or criticize him anymore if he beats Spence.
There will be complaints. And possibly with good reason. It depends on how he performs against Garcia, even in winning. I cannot think of any fighter who'd be given full credit for beating a guy one fight removed from an accident like that. Even if they say he's ok. I know it's unfair, but it's reality.
Style makes fights that's why Barrera looked good against Marquez and still lost. Also Barrera was coming from surgery with a metal plate in his head also he had a short camp in big bear because of the fire, that was not a 100% Barrera against Pacquiao.
It really bothers you that Manny Pacquiao is an ATG boxer who made his reputation beating some ATG Mexican boxers, doesn't it?
Uh, because Pacquiao ranks much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much higher than Morales and Roidquez on the ATG list. Like much, much, much, much, much, much higher. And this causes you a tremendous amount of pain.
Of course he wants Pac. Big money, little risk. No no I’m sure if you were in his shoes and not just a fan you’d risk it all for less money against a tougher opponent. Reminds me of the time I saw Mike Tyson drop a thousand dollar stack on the sidewalk and instead of picking it up I told him he looked stupid and talked funny.
'Getting clipped while clowning and almost snatching defeat from the jaws of victory' would be a more accurate way to describe the 12th, and then Pacquiao beat him twice (and no the second time was not against the 'poor shot Morales') and it took Marquez four fights to do it, of which he lost two and should have lost three by the admission of the judge who erroneously scored it a draw. As to 'why', it is because anytime anyone says anything remotely complimentary towards Pacquiao, you go out of your way to try to discredit him with some of the silliest and most blatantly biased "did you know this thing X which means this thing Pacquaio did is nowhere near as impressive as you think therefor he's not great just sort of good in a maybe-but-not-really kind of way?" arguments on the board, to the point that the Margarito defense squad looks sane by comparison. I have no choice but to assume that it either really, really, REALLY bugs you that he made his rep beating great Mexican fighters when they were still great, or he plowed your girl and most of your female relatives while forcing you to be his lookout, and didn't tip you afterwards.
This is probably Crawford playing the part of "promoter-friendly boxer" one last time before parting ways with Bob. He can say "I did what you asked me to, but you did not deliver the one big fight that could have made me re-sign with Top Rankito, adios"
