I personally can care less about a fighters nature beyond the ring. I'm a fan of boxing period. I respect great skills whether you're a douche or a saint. That said, I hope that Crawford doesn't change his ways to appease the public. If he's keeps fighting the way he does, he'll get the recognition that he deserves much like Hagler.
Hagler became famous beating Duran who was a superstar at that time, nobody at welter will give Bud the limelight by fighting him the way Duran did for Hagler, you just can`t get that kind of exposure on PPV unless you`re Floyd, Hagler then went onto to have iconic fights with Hearns and Leonard, there is no way a fight with Spence will be as big as those two fights.
Crawford will go down as an atg when it is all said and done. I have no doubts he'll go on and fight all the top guys at welterweight and stop them all. He acts like a man that knows hes the best, he aint on social media dancing and yelling like an insecure clown.
He's not got a bad personality, he's just not a shameless self-promoter. I have no problem with his persona at all, seems the ideal fighter in many ways.
Did Hagler get the recognition he deserves? Maybe among some but even spending a lot of time around his adopted home of Brockton, MA I heard a lot more about SRL and Duran.
That's why he and Spence both are trying to get Pacquiao. I don't like it but I understand it. It's the most lucrative fight they can get and it will take them to the next level.

Which is it? It's neither. No one said he has to turn in to a villain ala Mayweather, or a clown like Broner. There was just talk on why TC will likely not be a PPV star. Loma isn't a PPV star either. TC will get some recognition, but nothing like Hagler. Halger had two huge fights. There's nothing but a Pac fight that might get TC more public awareness. Bottom line is, TC needs a better PR person. Should have been looking to do endorsements. Start small and go up.
His personality is fine. The only person complaining about that is Bob Arum. Its a non issue. Crawford isnt more popular because hes rarely ever in meaningful fights.
I haven't heard anyone complain about it. With that said, if they do then they're dumb. He is a mellow person outside of the ring. Inside of the ring he's a ridiculously talented fighter with killer instinct. What's not to like?

I'm more offended by his claiming he'll fight anyone, and then when Shawn Porter pipes up Crawford was all, "Except for him."
He actually had quite a few more. The three with the other members of the Fab 4, and his fights with Sibson and Minter were absolutely huge here in the UK.
