Marciano makes almost every top 10 list.
Dempsey makes many top 10 lists.

Is someone having them at #1 & #2 enough to assume racial bias?

    If his top 5 were:
    1. Dempsey
    2. Marciano
    3. Jeffries
    4. Tunney
    5. Cooney

    Then you have a point.

Much cleverer boxer than he's given credit for too.

Obviously no, but I think he would have been a beast at cruiserweight.

With day before weigh-ins and help from nutritionists, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being able to make 175. His fight night weight was around what LHWs weigh now.

Since a popular topic in this forum are things Marciano never did...

    Some things Marciano never did:

    * Knocked down by and lose to an opponent 2 inches shorter and 16 lbs lighter.
    * Be knocked out by a smaller opponent who is 7 years older.
*Lose to an opponent 20+ pounds lighter.
*Knocked out by an opponent almost 10 years older.
*Lose to an opponent with 7 inches less reach.
*Lose to a former light heavyweight over 15 lbs lighter.
*Knocked out by a 34 year old fighter while 30 years of age.

    There's more...

I don't think he's top 50 to be perfectly honest. Pound for pound is a much different question.

But he did not even fight guys lighter than him, let alone he had the shorter reach.
