    I love Roldan. He was a beast of a man who could really crack and he gave both Hagler and Hearns great fights. He had Hearns in big trouble and as tough and iron-chinned as Hagler was he was definitely feeling the weight of Roldan's bombs in those early rounds. Not to the point where he was hurt but rather that he knew he was being hit very hard by a legit banger. Roldan was unlucky to fight in an era where he had to go through legendary fighters to get his hands on a belt but no question he would've done so had he been around in this day and age.

    So very sad to hear this news.
    Juan Domingo Roldan would have won titles in at least 3 weight classes if he were around in this era.

    Roldan was very good. He was maybe the toughest contender at a time when the middleweight division was full of tough guys. He did much better against Hagler than some of his peers like Scypion, Sibson and Hamsho. RIP.

    I really am sorry to hear this. Roldan was an absolutely for real Fighter. RIP.

    He took an accidental thumb in the eye against Hagler in the early rounds so he was fighting compromised for much of the fight and fighting Hagler when you were 100% was already a tall enough order for any man.
