Brook was winning the fight until Crawford tagged him with a right jab to the face/eye. Brook covered his face and turned away. Definitely gun shy.
Brook really hasn't been at the top of his game since he lost to Golovkin and Spence a while back. No question Brook still has ability, but I'm not that surprised that he came apart. Crawford is one of the best in boxing. Still, I think he would have his hands full with Spence and Pacquiao. Pacquiao may be old, but he's still very game and has a big punch. Bottom line, I think Crawford did a great job, but we shouldn't kid ourselves into thinking he was facing a prime Kell Brook.
Brook was safe as long as he could keep a distance. As soon as Crawford went up a gear, his foot and hand speed overwhelmed Kel whose punch resistance seems totally gone. Predictable really.
Brook looked like a deer in the headlights when Bud started landing heavy, it was only a matter of time for him to get taken out. Brook wanted to box his way to a decision and that was never going to happen.
Brook has been done since GGG.. Did anyone just conveniently forget Brooks ast two fights where he looked shot to ****, timing looked off etc. Brook looked like a freaking skeleton a the weigh in, if that isn't drained then I don't know what is. As soon as Crawford warmed up he KOd Brook with one of the first things he landed.. A power jab Anyone hyping or giving Crawford credit for this mockery disgrace to boxing needs a big slap.
Brooks weak at the weight now and past prime with injuries in the back of his mind. I honestly think Brook would be to strong for Crawford prime, not saying he stops Crawford but I’m confident he out points him. Brook was the goods
Edging out 2 or 3 of the first 4 rounds doesn't mean anything unless something substantial happened. Both guys were being very respectful of the other
My #1 takeaway from the fight is Kell Brook’s has punch resistance in his face. He can no longer take flush shots even from a Paulie Malinaggi type.
Brook needs to retire or move to 154. 147 not right or healthy. Used to be durable but pretty much got KOd by a job, or at least was beginning of the end.
I thought Brook fought intelligently, tried to counter the counter puncher, not show Crawford too much and showed he still has some skills but his punch resistance at least at welter seems greatly diminished. It was a typical Crawford like performance, look poor early while he gauges his opponent, then adapts and turns the fight on it's head. Him switching to southpaw took away Brooks jab and without that to keep Crawford at a safe distance the end came very swiftly. Overall an impressive performance by Crawford at least on paper, he dealt with Brook easier than Spence did much like he dealt with Khan easier than Canelo did but in both cases I think Crawford was facing an inferior version. These type of opponents get him noticed as they are well known opponents but they add little to his legacy.
The irony..no point explaining it to biased fans who want to continue fund BS in boxing. Thanks for contributing to ruining the sport you *****
That last paragraph is just void of any context, Crawford does not deserve any credit for this joke of fight
It is a fact your brain shrink as you age. Add a career where you are intentionally concussing yourself you are probably going to be very prone to having your brain rattled with little force as you get older. Some fighters get their brain rattled easier as they get older. Brook seem to fall in this category.
