There seems to be four prevailing theories.

    1) Warren/Arum couldn't come up with the money

    2) Fury wanted more money than was possible due to Covid restrictions

    3) Litigation by Wilder has legs

    4) The cut is re-opened

    We can add...

    5) Kabeyal couldn't come to terms

    6) Venue problems

    7) Other (please explain)

Don't forget to vote. We will allow multiple options in the poll as there may very well be multiple reasons.

I think the lack of a live gate was an issue and with Fury contractually guaranteed a reported $20 mill per fight as per his ESPN deal they were going to probably make a loss especially as interest in the rematch if were honest wouldn't of been as great due to the one sided nature of the last fight.

It would of required Wilder and promoters perhaps taking a cut in income to make the fight and fact is they didn't want to and so they delayed the fight hoping Covid would just disappear. While you have guys like Joshua, Joyce, Dubois and even Hearn taking cuts in pay to make fights happen this year it seems there wasn't the same desire from those involved in Wilder/Fury.

Wilder wants to practice his twerking for the upcoming exotic dance competition, so he ducked.

His new light weight suit wasn't going to be finished on time. TILL THIS DAY!! he still hasn't put a deposit on it for NASA to come up with weightlessness materials.

    The answer is number 1.

The fight was separate from his Top Rank deal and Fury was happy to take less to stay active.

However rumours were he wanted £5m and Kabayel wanted £500k. That fight on BT PPV only does 200-250k buys. With Top Rank buying the American rights the for which they would not pay big money for an afternoon fight. The total budget was £4m which they then had to pay an undercard and Kabayel. Fury would have made a couple million. When the lawsuits came up team Fury did not want to proceed Incase they were found to be in breach of contract.

AJ is rumoured to be making £8m to fight Pulev as Sky PPV is a bigger platform than BT and DAZN bout the worldwide rights and not just US.

shows how much Frank Warren is not Fury’s promoter as he likes to think as he couldn’t get a simple tick over finances.

Fury wants to fight bums and can’t sell **** no matter how good his ifltv views are. They were giving away tickets at all his fights in the states.

Same reason the Wilder fight hasn't happened....not enough money due to Lockdown.
Thats not Wilders or Fury fault

But with this fight against TBC in Dec....They should have checked the numbers before announcing....its just another time Fury has blagged everyone.

The only Fury fights on PPV in the U.S. were the Wilder fights. Even Fury-Klitschko was on HBO. His fights on his comeback were either on Showtime (the first two) or ESPN (the two between the Wilder fights).

No live gate. Not enough money. Not as much interest as the 2nd fight. Last fight wasn't competitive.

Lot's of reasons bundled together is my guess, but ultimately not financially viable right now.
