The shot to the body Wepner floored Ali with looked weaker than the shot to the body that Fury floored Wilder with, so what happened?

Ali’s already tilting backwards before the punch hit, it was more a case of him losing his balance.
It would have to count as a knockdown though because a punch landed as he was going down.
What the punch Fury landed on Wilder has to do with this I wouldn’t know.

Because people were saying something was wrong with Wilder as they didn`t think that body shot was that hard and others stated that Wilder simply displayed awful balance, making the comparison to what you just said obvious.

I do not think that it is obscure knowledge that Chuck Wepner stepped on Ali's foot, presumably accidentally, just before the punch landed.
Of course anyone might be floored this way.

What is not well known is that Wepner supposedly went back to his corner while saying something like "back up the money truck, we are going to be rich".

His trainer replied "you better turn around, he is getting up & he looks pissed".

He looked bemused. He disputed the knockdown. If you think he was in trouble, you need to look again.

There’s photographic evidence of Wepner stepping on his foot.

So what do I make of it? I make of it that a game club fighter got credited with a questionable knockdown against the greatest heavyweight of all time. And inspired “Rocky” by (almost) going the distance.

There’s not a lot more to it.

That`s why the Rocky theme is being played in the vid I posted.

Wepner stepped on Ali's foot and Ali was leaning back and would've needed to bring his feet with him to keep himself from falling over, but Wepner's foot was Keeping Ali's foot in place

It was a technical call. Ali was not hurt.

Just the murmurings of a few clueless idiot casuals...not knowing that all hurtful punches needn't look hard...like in B grade hollywood movies...but you knew that mark.

It's brutally well known that Wepner was standing on his foot hence the KD.
