Nunn gets a bit overrated I feel. I had him drawing with Barkley and he didn't impress me against Starling either.

He looked great against Tate, but Tate went on to absolutely jack. Kalambay was a legit top quality opponent at his peak, though, but when it comes to a punch KO like that a rematch is nice to see if it was a one-off, but that never happened.

 

It was reported as 153 at the time.

 

Hagler would outbox McClellan and break him down over the course of the fight.

 

Gerald was a very big MW. But a fighter who rehydrates by up to 20 pounds wouldn't weigh-in 3 pounds under the limit.

I've never seen that before.

 

Why? He was surrounded by amateurs and was used to pulling down to 160.

If a guy is rehydrating by up to 20 pounds, then he has hard time making weight.

He doesn't come in with a full 3 pounds to spare.

He misjudged, get over it. It didn't matter because he completely dwarfed Benn come fight time anyway

Wouldn't of been much more than 168, he said he struggled to eat enough to weigh in at 167-168.

 

It isn't really. Hagler had the bulk of his fights with same day weigh ins. McClellan did not.
I don't believe that McClellan ever fought as a "middleweight" at anything less than 175, and that most of the time he was in the mid 180s. There are too many reliable boxing guys that talk about it.
