You people are really concerned with alt-identities on a message board? First world problems. Try responding to the arguments presented.
There is more to it but that's a very interesting argument .. your writing is familiar .. curious who your primary alt is ..
We've never seen Tunney in the ring w a prime Frazier type .. the 70% Dempsey with compromised legs doesn't compare .. We've seen Joe against Ali and Ellis .. have to go w Joe based on what we've seen ..
That does not make sense on several levels. Once, are you being intellectually honest? You seem to know boxing history fairly well. You must knpow that Tunney, especially as a long semi-active swarmer, was well past his prime by then. He basically said his legs were gone by then. Also it is absolutely untrue that Dempsey was better in every aspect than Frazier. I would be equally suspicious if someone said the opposite; two stylistically distinct ATGs, & one is better in every way than the other? Nor remotely credible.
Sometimes a new quote will have me check out threads I never saw before, & if there are not too many pages, I tend to read everything. Surely-if I may call you Shirley ;-) you recognize Frazier had a higher work rate, a better left hook, from reports & considering commitment to punches at a higher natural body weight hit harder...& was a better inside fighter. Other things are debatable & you can credit Tunney with some advantages, & in some cases we cannot tell who to favor-since Tunney fought so little at HW-even when they were smaller then-& did not get hit as much as many, we do not know the extent & limits of his chin. But you must admit that saying something like Tunney is better at everything betrays inarguable bias.
Walker vs Steele becoming a massive issue still surprises me to this day, i shouldve seen it coming, knowing the strange steele fanbase here, but still..... Like you expect Marciano Liston to blow up but Walker vs Steele? just strange. Doesnt follow the tried and true "heavyweight vs larger, more modern heavyweight who accomplished not even 1/10th as much" bait
