Imo Joyce should be on Daniel's chest from the get go and try and work him over, if he stays at distance he will get drilled by Dubois jab(which is world class) then stopped by the one two
https://fb.watch/1SDNEuTUWI/ Sam Jones' Titanic reference.... Oh, dear. Terrible and poorly executed! I love Warren's dig at Chisora. I've heard him say that same thing tens of times over the years. People say they are boring, but I love their back and forth. It's genuinely funny. Dubois: "I'm gonna kick your arse" Joyce: "Well, you're not going to kick me" Every time Joyce says "uh?" it just reminds me of David Brent. Somebody else must get that!
Make it scrappy and try to take it into the later rounds. I don’t see this going the distance. Is this an eliminator for the WBO?
Joyce just needs to smother DDD and keep smothering until he runs out of ideas and gas by round 7/8 then beat him up. If he stands off DDD then he’s gone in about 4/5 rounds IMO. Great fight tbh no one would put their house on a winner which is how it should be. Winner gets a lucrative journey thereon in, loser gets a good fight next too but if they lose that then they r done. Head says DDD but heart says Joyce as the slight underdog.
The chin needs to be tough teak - if it does not smash he can outpoint DDD with his output. One punch by DDD can end the fight.
Perhaps in the minority here but I think he's zero chance of outpointing Dubois, he's just waaay too slow.
Certainly looked very slow in last fight and hopefully for his sake that is rust after a long lay off.
The more I think of it Joyce is best employing two main tactics: first get on Dubios chest, push him back, lean on him, create a quick tempo, then when their is a break in play enploy a second tactic in a round move back to outside, let Dubois get frustrated at you're success up close, he will soon get wild coming after Joe, wait till he loses shape spring in and counter hard.
I don't know why but I fancy Joyce to win this, I think he's all wrong for Dubois at this stage of his career. Joyce reminds me of George Foreman stylistically but he hasn't got the same devastating power. If he can take the shots off Dubois then the kid is in big trouble, Joyce needs to put him under big pressure, push him back, offset him and land big shots of his own.
