"Anthony Joshua doesn't really appeal to Americans, I think he missed the boat with the Wilder fight." Do you have to grab this market to become a superstar? Its a great advantage yes but look a the amount of countries AJs fights are watched /purchased Are you telling me he is not a superstar in boxing terms? Nonsense really I'm not his biggest fan but he has superstar status worldwide - its him and Canelo right now Any how García has a chance for sure, he has the marketing side of it pretty much ready to go ,just needs them few big fights to launch him
The heavyweight champion should always be main attraction hes the king of them all. Klitchko bored it off in germany and fought too cautiously he went out like a champ though. Joshua is a huge star as is Fury.
First & foremost Canelo is hardly the face of boxing. He's a tried & convicted Ped's abuser. Even Bob Bennett couldnt save him when he was busted for Clenbuterol but he only gave him time to get his knee surgery done, no other penalty . Everyone sees the "friendly" judging in Vegas . He has wins where everyone knows he really should have losses. Now he's antagonized Oscar & DAZN he's trying Texas . I hope they will see the fight is officiated fairly with the legitimate better man on the night getting the win he deserves for a change
Could be Ryan Garcia. Hes got a big fanbase and half of them are females.but hes in a stacked LW division wheres hes going to have to work extremely hard to stay undefeated in.
I don't see any of those guys becoming stars because I think they are all very beatable and will soon be figured out. Next star has to be someone that isn't losing for a while or will at least be elite level for a while. Unfortunately I don't see anyone like that at this point. Lomachenko could be someone like that but with his racial background it is not easy being a star for Eastern European fighters in USA.
Ryan Garcia if he keeps winning and being a heart-throb for teenage girls, just make sure he doesn't put one in any underage ones though or smashes them up.
I am telling you, it´s not the case. It´s all about the wins. No one gave a **** about Ruiz´s loss to Parker, after Ruiz beat Joshua. Adrien Broner has a couple of losses but he is SHO´s biggest draw behind Wilder. Promoters and networks heavily push the undefeated narrative, but in reality it matters little.
I want to find out whether he can take a punch. If so, he's definitely going to take over WW about two years from now
