Now most people believe Muhammad Ali was untouchable on his prime & pretty much nobody beats him. Now that's just not true. No fighter is invincible. Now I'd favour him over a large majority of heavyweights throughout history (about 96%, maybe more), but I still feel he could lose to some.
Name some fighters who you think would have or very likely could have beaten Ali in his prime.

    Some of mine are:
Louis (his patience, timing & accuracy would be the key in beating Ali)
Marciano (I know most will disagree, but his pressure, work-rate & body attack would give him a real chance of winning, though he would be the underdog to many. Ali even said that he'd be his toughest fight)
    Holmes
    Frazier
    Holmes
Tyson (has a punchers chance. His best chance is to get Ali outta there early)
    Lewis
    Klitschko's
Fury (his size, range & awkwardness could offset Ali)

If you watch his fight with Billy Conn ...it’s kinda hard to envision Joe Louis doing well against a prime Ali

The Ali of 1966-7 is the finest Heavyweight there has ever been. For all the " On his night " this or that guy could have beaten him arguments, they hinge on Ali having an off night.

One reason why pressure fighters gave Ali trouble was because he wasn’t a big puncher

Ya, except pressure fighters like Frazier and Norton gave Ali loads of trouble, whereas Liston and Foreman, who hit even harder, do not give close to as hard of a fight to Ali as either Frazier or Norton. It's styles, not so much power.

He didn’t use lateral movement? He just stood there and traded with him ? He didn’t work behind the jab ?

Only FOTC Frazier could beat him, though Holmes, Steward-era Lewis, and Joe Louis would give him a very hard fight. I think he'd beat prime Holmes and Louis, but by SD. I can see Louis flooring him.

Marciano would tough it out, but I think he'd lose a UD even on his best night.

Louis beats him seven days a week. Twice, on Sundays.

I GETTT ITT now. You mean't that because Ali didn't have the power necessary to hurt Frazier and Norton the way Foreman could, that that's why he struggled with them. Sry I misunderstood.

My argument being, the Ken Norton who fought Muhammad Ali in 1973 was in perfect condition, went through hypnosis, that is factual. That Ali was 221 lbs, did not train and I might add was years away from his peak years of 1966-1967, Ali lacked stamina in 1973. As for Joe Frazier, Ali only fought twice in 43 months, his last fight begore those two fights was on March 22 1967, when he stopped Zora Folley in 7 rounds to retain his title. His stamina, timing, speed and reflexes were not the same as they were in 1967. Furthermore, Yank Durham did not want Joe to fight Ali in 1967, stating he was too green. As champion in his first title reign, Ali was never decked. I think that you get Ali of the 1970's confused with the Muhammad Ali of the mid 1960's.
