I'm gonna start with David Adeleye, he throws good combinations and there is clearly power there, he is not fluid at all, but he sets up punches behind the jab well, he is quite stiff and that style won't work against big fighters because he likes to be the one on the front foot backing them up with stiff jabs and straight punches then firing off hard hooks to the body and head, and he has no movement which you need against big fighters, Adeleye is not big at all Fabio Wardley, he can be very good, he is not a massive heavyweight, but is decent size and unlike Adeleye, he is fluid and has good movement and there is power there, he has fast feet and hands and also sets up punches well behind the jab, he can have success against big fighters, using that movement and speed which he has
I like Wardley. I think there is something there which could make him get up to world level. For me it is his fluidity, calmness and smarts which make me think he can go further than Dubois and after Lartey, he would have proven just as much as Dubois without the purchased WBO ranking.
Agree with the above on Wardley. As he’s not had an amateur background would like him to have another 5 progressive learning fights in the next 18 months before going up to fringe world level. Get him in with Browne, Gorman etc before stepping him up to someone like Chisora at 15-0. Would like to seee his chin tested a little adeleye is hard to get a read on until he fights someone that tries to punch him back. Seems to have a decent level of skill. Guess is Warren Will pad him out until 15-0 before trying to set him and Dubois up for a vacant WBO belt in 3 or 4 years time
Has anyone seen much of Franklin Ignatious? He is signed with Matchroom I believe, spars with Chisora and Joyce often. Also this new heavyweight Johnny Fisher that Hearn has signed.
Wardley looks soft to me. A pressure fighter like Joyce or Bakole would stop him. I think his limit is British title. Just can’t see him making it very far. Adeleye is very very early stage, too early to call. He hasn’t even faced any fellow unbeaten British prospects yet. I will reserve judgment on him for now.
I’m very interested to see how Wardley deals with Lartey tonight. I haven’t really seen what the fuss is about Fabio- he just looks like a fairly average British level heavy to me - hopefully I’m wrong as he seems to be a decent kid. Adeleye is quick and seems to be punching hard and can put his combos together well. Obviously his first few opponents Hadn’t been up to much, so we will have to see. He is quite small for the weight thought.
Browne? He's shot to bits. I'd back Tom Little to beat Browne now. That fight would be a massive waste of time, and why would Wardley fight Gorman when he fights for your favourite promoter Frank Warren? Unless there's something you know behind the scenes? Agree on Adeleye. I like the look of him despite his low level of opposition so farwhich is fine as he is only 3 fights into his career. Think he could go a long way in the sport if he's bought along correctly.
Not seen much of Wardely but he looks like a domestic level Heavy. Maybe he can push on and compete at Euro level but he isn't making a dent at the top tables. Honestley seen so little of Adeleye I can't make a comment.
Wardley inpressed me last fight, I look forward to seeing him against Partey btonight (the first and only guy wlto chin check and hurt Dubios so far).
From the right in the second round from Partey that staggered Dubois definelty appeared to momentarily hurt him.
With Hearn confirming Warldey will be fighting on the Whyte vs Povetkin 2 card (Babic too). With Wardley's lack rounds they should look to put him against a durable gatekeeper such as Kevin Johnson or Rudenko type.
