And here lies the essence of the problem my dear Mark...your ocd like obsession with stats such as alphabet ratings ,the cut and pasting of repetitive well known facts and backstories... without the equivalent value placed on knowledgable human opinions with all their degrees of difference. The unconcious bias beleif that only your opinion is right and therefore the constant compulsion on every thread to quote and dispute every differing posters opinion rather than merely stating your own, letting others state theirs and letting the cards fall and the conversation flow....i get it these are forums ....designed for debate and difference...however constantly insulting others intelligence in replies....case in point...here you are now starting a chisora is better than biggs debate ....and your first call of authority is the ring ratings for late 1989. I dont need to quote the Ring Ratings of the time ...to back my opinion. Despite his drug ravaged rushed early pro career where he actually went backwards as a boxer not forward..... by the time he faced tyson 3 years in to his career Biggs had only been beaten by Tyson and Damiani (a man he beat often in the amateurs)...he had beaten the likes of james tillis ,David Bey and renaldo snipes. All 3 are better than any 1 chisora has ever beaten by some distance. Malik scott, kevin johnson and takam ( a man who made a career in the mid 2010s beating 40 something long 1990s relics) and danny williams...the less said the better. Biggs when he met mason was 28 with 2 losses and relavent......chisora after haye crushed him twice...has just become the sky boxing tv circuits gatekeeper in a woefully weak hw division globally Yes....so little goes so far in todays depleted boxing scene....back than i knew 30-40 interesting hw"s off the top of my head....these days despite youtube and the net...there are no more felt forum shows, no hw explosion...no small hall uk shows....just 7-8 regurgitated guys controlled by 2 salesmen...if a 1986 mike tyson under around today under cayton jacobs...he"d clean out the limited world scene in a year fighting every 6 weeks....than apart from the fury superfight...thered be no one for him to fight for 2-3 years.....the sport is shrinking
Biggs was coming into the fight against Mason with 2 stoppage losses in his last 2 fights (one of which was absolutely brutal), he was inactive for 12 months and hadn't won a fight in 27 (twenty seven!!!) months.
All true big guy and well put.....there was hope however after the year off Biggs may knuckle down and finally do himself justice......Biggs was motivated and looked good vs Mason until the 1 punch knockout late in the fight...i think both fought at a level above the chisora or whytes of this world....whyte would have been the british adilson rodriguez back than imo....your opinion is different and well argued...it may be more agree with yours...i admit
1989 version of Biggs was still better than everyone Whyte beat apart from Parker possibly, who Whyte didn't really beat convincingly at all.
The whole of the fourth round was in center of the ring and it was an even round, AJ exploded in the 5th, punching Wlad all over the ring, cutting him and dropping him but punched himself out and Wlad dominated the last half of the round with AJ badly hurt, really exciting round.
