Not sure the Ward that fought Kovalev would beat Beterbiev. That dude is a machine.

I don't know if he beats Beterbiev, I actually thinks he loses that one and maybe to Bivol as well. And I'm saying this with having Ward as my favorite recent/current fighter.

Especially against Beterbiev......... Ugghh, I'd hate to see it but I have a bad feeling Beterbiev would walk him down and maul him.

Bro, Mickey's the only Ward that even matters. A little while ago back when I was living in Lowell, MA(where Mickey and Dicky Eklund are from) and I go into this bar/restaurant picking up takeout when all the sudden the doors crash open like a goddamned angry gorilla decided to enter. It wasn't a gorilla though, it was Dicky Ekland who proceeded to walk in and go behind the bar like he owned the place(he didn't) and pour/down 4 shots of liquor in like - seriously - 2.7 seconds, like.it was this well rehearsed and endlessly practiced boot camp drill. The smoothness of it all truly amazed me. Then, without paying he leaves everything as he left it when he drank the shots and proceeded to leave, pushing the bartender to the side like he was a circus clown or something worse, re-entering the streets of Lowell(where in his mind he is supreme leader) and was off on his way to do the same thing or worse or both.

The funny thing is, Dicky was the FAR SUPERIOR gifted, talented, and athletic boxer compared to his brother Mickey. Perfect situation that highlights the need to have a good head screwed on tight for someone to have success between the good and top levels.

He wasn't "on another level" in his prime against out of his prime Kovalev.
Just couple of rounds and Kovalev already started to breathe hard. And that was in Ward's homecountry against a boxer from hated from all in that time country - Russia.Accused and attacked from USA in all fronts, including anti doping (while their athletes were given "therapeutic doping").So, you can be sure Kova was out of shape and 1000% clean for that fight, and the same for Ward..not sure.
Even with that, out of shape Kovalev, without the same speed, awful stamina, Kovalev was still clearly better than Ward and we all saw that.

Kovalev on another level compared to Ward. With all the bonuses for Ward and against Kovalev.
