Most of the "experts" here think Babic is rubbish as the Brits would say. I think that's too harsh.

I do think he's too small to be a serious HW contender. He might be a factor as a SCW if that division gets going.

    Benn has **** technique.
Hes just an arm puncher. He does put his hip into shots, but that's about it.

    Timestamped.
Here he lands what should have been a KO shot.
When throwing the right hand, you want/need to transfer your weight from the back foot, onto the front foot. Meaning your center line has to move. Your head is lined up with the back leg, and then moves onto the front leg.
This is what Benn should be doing.

But Benn just stands in a neutral position. It´s especially well highlighted in the followup right hands that he throws.

You can eat the counter punch of your life doing that.

Anyway, I've mixed feelings, probably in a punch like the one you linked, an "all in" punch, you should do it. But I would not do it very often.... you can break your oponents right hand with your face if you get countered doing that.

I didnt dislike benns technique, tbh. The only thing I can think of is that he sometimes make small jumps when he tries to finish with a hard punch. That's amateur level of stupidity. Chisora level (he did it too a lot last fight). I hate to witness that. That's completely wrong.

EDIT: it's obvious, though, that the guy lacks of the proper power. So maybe you are right, and I'm not. But I've always been told not to follow the punch with my body, NEVER. (even if I see in pro boxing that they do it in certain finisher punches, pros can do what amateurs cannot, like philly shell for instance).

Here, you can see the right hand changing the weight properly. Wilder does not throw his head after the punch.

btw, everybody criticizes wilder, blahblah, but his straight right hand is one of the most beautiful punches in the business, he does it perfectly.

 Bro you had me worried there for a second.
Yes, you are right about going all in, but I was just trying to explain the proper fundamentals there.
You don´t have to go all in, but you have to transfer your weight. Not only adds it power, it allows for better combination punching.

The way Benn does it, he just stands still. It´s a very hard position to defend yourself from and it´s hard to transition into another punch.
    It´s very bad technique.

I've rewatched the right hand like 1000 times.

He got caught twice while punching, and it took power from this punch. Well done by formella.

The lack of power is because he does not put his weight properly in his rear leg. Look at his rear foot, it moves while punching, o_O, that means ZERO power. I have not watched the rest of his right hands to know if he does it always or if it happened because he was punched in the middle.

I still think that throwing the body after the punch is a mistake. The weight change must be done without going after the punch yourself. And to have the rear leg set properly on the ground is crucial to achieve that.

EDIT: I'm not a trainer, though. So take it with a grain of salt. I'm the guy talking in the bar with a beer in my hand. I could be COMPLETELY wrong.

You have to move your weight from the back leg onto the front leg for maximum power. This not necessary at all times. As you have said
If you dont move your center line onto the front leg, you won´t be able to properly transition into a left hook(the most natural punch from that position).
And a big problem with not moving your head is that you will get countered.

But Benn´s problem is that he doesn´t transition his weight at all. It´s just arm punching.

I completely agree with that. But imho the movement must be done from right to left, trying not to go forward (a strong left leg set on the ground stops this movement).

Probably we are talking the same, and I got misled because of the baseball pitcher video. Where the guy follows the ball with his body forward.

Yea, I should have clarified there.
I just wanted to highlight the body mechanics.

If Benn had the technique, he would have KTFO Formella.

you are too harsh on him. He got punched twice in the middle of the execution. hahaha.

But yes I agree that not stopping formella tells that benn lacks of some power. He connected so many punches that had he had good power formella would have been stopped yes or yes.

Imho he could have finished him though, had he chosen the right time to finish him. I said it in another post before. He tried to finish formella in 6th and 7th rounds, and that was wrong, formella was not ready to be finished. And when formella was ready to be finished, in 9th and 10th rounds, benn hesitated or didnt know how to.

I agree he lacks of certain power. But I think that the power he has is enough to stop formella.... only with a little bit more of experience and more patience/better decision making.

He's young, he has margin to improve. Let's see.

Many accused Lartey for diving against Wardley, in this thread and Twitter. I didn't believe it at first but here's a clip from yesterday, his move is exactly the same... Like a sack of shitty rotten potatoes.
