Great news that Scott is back training and we'll see him out again next year. Has bags of talent and carries pop so do hope that he can get his head down and not waste his career.
I rate Fitzgerald but I think he needs to add a few more strings to his bow if he is to push on for belts beyond domestic level. He’s got a fantastic jab, a good right hand and top chin...he comes forward & brings it. However, he looked frustrated against Cheeseman & we know what level he’s on. He couldn’t pin him down and arguably was outboxed for several rounds. He’s too one dimensional at the minute unless he gets matched to suit that.
I have heard that SF was in a bad place for the Cheeseman fight. Not that it’s an excuse really, but it impacted his training and he wasn’t really prepared for that fight. Not like he was for the Fowler fight anyway.
Very True. He was in a bad place for both fights really, had huge problems which are now fairly well documented prior to both fights. It's amazing he was able to beat Fowler and Cheeseman with what was going on outside of the ring and how erratic and unstable things were during those camps. Scott spent a week in rehab prior to his arrest at the start of the year, he had moved to London, once all his problems are 100% fully behind him we will see the best of him.
No doubt bud. He looked really frustrated during that fight, and I think everyone including Scott thought that Cheeseman would fight on the front foot. When he fought Fowler, they went jab for jab in a battle of wills. Fowler is very one dimensional. I think Fitzgerald could fight all day in that kind of fight. I’m just not convinced he’s equipped to deal with a pot shotter with quality footwork at the moment. I think someone like a Conway would be a good learning fight for him, who would make him think and adapt without being too worried about what’s coming back.
Saw him running on the docks today, told me that he's training and getting away from the estate he has lived on. Looks in decent shape too.
My wife was a Juror on a sexual assault case a few years ago. 2 late teen girls that looked in their late twenties (slags) who it turns out, falsely accused the guy in order to get compo payouts. By the time the court case came around, the guy had lost his job, his wife kicked him out and his kids disowned him. The 2 slags in the end admitted to their fraudulent claims and got some BS community order for perverting the course of Justice or some other bollocks. My wife felt so sorry for the accused she could have cried, so thoroughly had these 2 lying bimbos destroyed his life. This **** happens A LOT.
Fitzy needs to get away from the larches, have a fresh start, not just a gym change but a break away from the people around him. Hopefully he does this and we can see the best of him.
