I think he does to be honest. Khan looks beyond shot with his already limited punch resistance virtually nonexistent (hardly surprising given the punishment he's taken through a pretty long career) and Conor has improved to the point where he will be a tough night's work for anyone outside the top 15. Still not convinced he's much above British level but, he does seem to be on a steady progression curve and he beat Formella very comfortably in the end and hurt him a number of times.
This could be a poor man’s Hagler v Hearns ! Both like to entertain, have weak defensive skills & have hit the canvas. I pick Benn. Purely because he’s hungrier, younger & Khan is surely shot.
Lets just say that Khan would know a little bit more than Conor, enough to school him and possibly stop him late.
Come on guys, this is ridiculous. No, Benn would not beat Amir Khan - not even this version. I can’t be bothered to go through all the reasons, but Connor simply doesn’t have the power to stop him. He could stun him as he often gets, but not stop him - (remember who has KO’d Amir) and Amir would light him up with his still lightening quick hands.
I'd love to see this just for the entertainment value it would bring. Khan thinking he's still elite is comedy gold and Benn with his massive unnecessary chip on his shoulder, babbling on about making sacrifices etc is always funny to watch seeing as it's a load of bull. Pick Khan to win.
Khan's glass chin means anyone can stop him - the question is whether Benn is quick enough to land. On the evidence of last night, he certainly looks capable.
I did say I always expected Benn to get beyond Brit level and to a world title shot. 147 will always be too talented a division to actually win one though, and he is way too small for 154 which could get weak if the guys there all move up. If only he could make 140, he would knock lumps out of Josh Taylor Josh Taylor will get absolutely poleaxed at 147 too, could never win a title in a talented division, Only wins titles against no hopers I hope Tank and Teo come up and wipe him out real soon
Good fight and with Benn more marketable after last night's win, Amir might take it. There's more money in this than a fight with Brook.
Maybe Khan's shot to bits and with his chin anything is possible but I doubt Khan even knows who he is, he'd see the Benn name and think it's Nigel making another comeback no chance it happens.
