Who cares about a best punch. Vitali wasn't a one punch KO artist, he beat guys down. He would do that to DW.
People in this thread are saying Wilder couldn't take Vitali's best punch. You said Wilder would not survive. I just thought I'd ask. Vitali and Wilder have the same number of KOs. Can't anyone point to Vitali's best punch? OR are people actually saying Wilder couldn't knock Vitali out with one punch ... BUT Vitali could stop Wilder after landing like a 100 punches over 11 rounds? (LOL) Like Wilder couldn't knock out Vitali by landing MORE than one punch? Is this really a thread? (LOL)
Vitali didn't need a "Best punch"... he had a wider arrange of punches in his arsenal. Whatever 'people' are saying take it up with them.
If Vitali is given ONE punch (his best punch) to stop Wilder ... and Wilder gets to throw all the punches he wants over the course of a fight ... Wilder would win, too. (LOL)
I don't think Vitali has the best chin ever, that Lewis uppercut hurt him, I saw Mercer take similar uppercuts in his fight with Lewis and barely register he'd been hit. But having said that he'd probably eat a Wilder right hand and still be upright but he'd be hurt much like he was hurt a couple of times vs Lewis.
I saw the way Vitali looked when an out of shape Corrie Sanders hit him. In my opinion if a Deontay landed flush on him he could definitely go down.
Moot point as I don’t think Wilder would land anything of significance on Vitali. Wilder on the other hand has an abysmal Chin that is so bad his handlers babied and coddled him as bad as any contender we have seen in the last 30 years.
Vitali was never a defensive wizard. He was a tough and strong guy and his size really worked to his advantage in his era. He also wasn't this massive puncher as some people like to make out. If Wilders chin was so abysmal how come punchers like Stiverne, Arreola and Ortiz weren't able to even drop him let alone knock him out. With Wilders height, and athleticism i'm sure Wilders punch would land at some point. Wilder would undoubtedly be the puncher in this match up. I saw how Corrie Sanders punches affected Vitali, a very out of shape Sanders i'd like to point out. Vitali would be in the ring with someone just as tall as him, more athletic, faster, good stamina and that hits much harder than him. Once again Vitali used his overall size and long arms to avoid punches. This would not work to the same degree with someone as tall as he is and Very Dangerous.
As big and as Defensively sound as Fury is/was Deontay was still able to land and drop Fury 2x and he is much better defensively and even taller than Vitali.
Agree wilder it’s not on VKs level. As far as toughness and punch tolerance; nor skill for that matter
If Wilder could manage to land a huge right hand, I think he could drop Vitali. Don't think it'd knock him out though.
Look at what your boy Povetkin just did to a much younger Dillian Whyte. Older or not theres a reason everyone has been avoiding Ortiz. At the time Wilder fought Ortiz, Ortiz was a top 5 heavy weight in the divison.
