Wardley, think he could push Gorman about a bit, go to a decision though. Would be a close fight though, Gorman can box a bit, I do like him quite a bit, needs to get in shape and sort his mental capacity out like pre-Dubois.
Gorman looked terrible against Lartey. Looks like a fighter who isnt living the life and its catching up with him. Wardley is the undefeated one who has the momentum on his side. As timing is everything in boxing. You would have to fancy Wardley to win a decision. I think Gorman is more talented and would win if he was 100% but he is pissing his career away.
Wardley far more dedicated and committed to giving his career a genuine shot and he seems to be a pretty smart cookie so will learn and improve a lot quicker than Gorman. Gorman has a weight advantage but otherwise, Wardley has all the physical advantages of height, reach, athleticism and punch power. I was never that high on Gorman anyway whereas I see Wardley as a bit of a dark horse, at least domestically and he has a lot of natural ability. Wardley beats Gorman up before stopping him mid way.
Gorman was absolutely petrified as soon as he felt a bit of power in Dubois Jab. Wardley looks like he’s got a solid one too so I expect him to get stopped.
I think we are in danger of unfairly throwing Gorman in the washed up bin. As we know, Dubois hits like a truck. I think it was Kevin Johnson who said his jab was like a right hand and harder than Klitsckos, so it’s little wonder Gorman was stunned/fearful from it. Against Lartey he was about 3 stones overweight and clearly coming off a bout of depression. He also hadn’t been in the ring for about 16 months and changed trainer. I look forward to his next fight to see where he is at, but for now I would have to still favour him over Wardley.
Wardley v Babic would be good next fight for both of them. Warren would put that on but Eddie wouldn’t that’s the problem. Or Price for either.
I like Gorman because I think there is a decent boxer under all that fat however, I just think Wardley has got more in him. With Wardley, I think he could become fringe world level or better, with Gorman I think he tops out at British or European level.
Gorman is technically very good, but looked awful against Lartey and seems to have lost a lot since Dubois. Unless Gorman dramatically improves, changes his mindset and lives the life there's no way he wins. And I don't really rate Wardley.
Well going on the back of there last 2 performances I can't not back Wardley. He's the one with the momentum and we've all seen his improvements... Gorman on the other hand has looked rather poor and out of shape. Hoping he can get his head right and career back on track because he is clearly talented.
I agree. Even though I'm no longer riding the Gorman hype train I still think if Nathan could get in proper fighting shape I think his boxing ability, which is decent, should allow him to outpoint a still raw Wardley. However on recent showing these two fighters are on opposite slopes. If Nathan can't get his head and body right and he shows up looking like he did against Lartey then he's done for. Likewise if Wardley continues to improve at some point those considerable physical advantages would make him favourite whatever shape Nathan's in. I suspect he has the higher potential career ceiling if all goes well.
I would back Fabio Wardley here and would be pretty confident he would win, but I have never been that impressed by Gorman.
