Who would win this fight. Bareknuckle boxing

I can imagine it....its a fresh day. Several fans crowded in the woods its a foggy day.... John L Sullivan already made his way to fight.... Then from afar approaching. ... Several fans are left in aw... Jaws dropped ... Making his way is Anthony Joshua a full 6'6 247 lbs of solid muscle. A giant .... Sullivan has never seen a man this size built this strong with power. Sullivan although concerned , will not back down and is eager to get the fight going , Sullivan had been thinking about the threat his opponent Joshua may present to him. The undefeated Sullivan is anxious. Joshua himself confident very eager to get the fight going, he is about to face the best boxer of his era in London Prize Rules. Joshua feels very confident in his ability to win. Both fighters eager to get the fight going . both knockout artists. Both aware of this. Both fighters get to the middle of the ring staring each other down. They are told of the rules .. And they are ready .... London Prize Rules bare knuckle boxing. Til someone gets knocked out.

    Who takes it..

I think Joshua would be very poorly suited to bareknuckle.

Size advantage counts for significantly less under LPR rules (and similar). Stamina would be a major issue, as well as the difficulty in finishing opponents under those rules.

I voted Sullivan because he did fight bareknuckle a couple of times.
But he was mostly a gloved MofQ rules boxer.

I'm sure punching a random guy in the face because they owe a drug dealer money is excellent preparation for the specific rules and tactics of the London Prize Ring.

    Assuming LPR rules?

Sullivan. Not really any reason to favour AJ apart from the immediately physical, and as @BitPlayerVesti mentioned, the strategies and techniques needed for LPR were well suited to negate bigger men. LPR is basically a different sport.

I don’t know the rules to bare knuckle but I’d go with the super heavyweight

Sullivan blitzes the muscle bound AJ and cracks him. Never had a high opinion of guys as heavily muscled as AJ. Never seen one at the gym capable of doing much at all. To the unknowing its intimidation to the knowing it's a joke

We would have to install Sullivan as favorite.

Having said that, the argument in Sullivan's era, was often that a man with 1/2 bare knuckle fights, had to be favored over a man with none.

Sullivan had very limited bare knuckle experience.

It is just that it was at a high level in the sport, and he acquitted himself well!

Imma just go with the bigger, physically stronger, technically better, heavier, harder hitting person

Joshua has no technique in bareknuckle fighting.

You dont think boxing can translate to bare knuckle fighting ?? And boxing bare knuckle or not is way more technically evolved now than it was then. But even if we ignore that. Joshua is alot bigger and probably hits twice as hard.

Being a successful gloved fighter, is no guarantee of being a successful bare knuckle one.
Now there I would strongly disagree.

When Sullivan came along, bare knuckle boxing was a two hundred year old sport.

Today it has not been a mainstream sport for over a century.
