Suppose Moorer manages to stay away from Gorge for 12 rounds and wins a decision. How does his career go from there?
Beats a few good contenders like McCall, Tucker, Akinwande and possibly Bruno, but when he fights one of the top 5 like Lewis, holyfield, Tyson or Bowe he then loses which is not necessarily a bad thing
I mean even if Moorer would give it his all against those and didn't surrender, it wouldn't be enough to win and I'm saying it isn't a bad thing because they're some of the greatest of all time
Tony Tucker was the next mandatory, he beats him then he probably wants to try and cash out and get the big bucks while he has the title, the money is with either Tyson or Holyfield, the a,b,c; alphabet; Larry, curly, moe titles wouldn't touch Bowe at this time. Tyson was just back out of prison so probably Holyfield or Lewis. Unless he does a Foreman and fights a few unknowns to keep the cash cow, but Moorer wasn't a big sell like Foreman, so he fights Holyfield.
He'd then beat Tucker. No doubts that he would've won, Tucker at that time was stopped by glass-jawed Bruce Seldon. Then (probably) fight against Botha, who was Don King fighter at that time and thus was highly ranked. That's 1995. In 1996 Moorer defends his titles against Iron Mike, who knocks him out early and wins his titles back.
I forgot apparently Sanders was next in line after Foreman, that would be a good one, but I think 94-95 Moorer out scores Sanders, he could get caught though. Then beats mandatory Tucker. Then the money match
wow, i would have loved to see Sanders-Moorer. Two southpaws fighting each other? Wowzers If Sanders would have won, Lewis or Holyfield would have to fight him.
He probably fights Oliver McCall and unifies the titles. Of course he loses his titles to Riddick Bowe in his first unified title defense. Holyfield had briefly retired Lennox Lewis lost to Oliver McCall and Tyson was in prison. Bowe would have been best option at the time.
Moorer's lefthanded stance along with that good sharp right jab. He would tie Bruno into knots. MM had quicker hands and just as powerful. Neither guy had a great chin but in deep water I think Moorer had a bit more heart if it did get to a slugfest.
George Foreman retires again in 1994 as he has enough money to run his church. He can continue to make enough money selling his grills on television as well as commentating for HBO.
