Yeah was naive from Dubois to not try and see the final bell at least because I get the feeling he would've got the decision.

Maybe. But I believe he is declining. He lost his timing and speed on his shot. Clear sign you can't pull that trigger as you use to in his early days. I have seen it many times in pro boxers.

DDD was unfortunately a hype train destined to be derailed. Should've went all in vcash.

This. I've never been a fan of spoon feeding a fighter a bunch of knockout victims. Joyce is badly in need of rounds. I also wonder if Dubois is truly being tested by his sparring partners, since he looked surprised that Dubois was able to absorb all of his shots, which shouldn't have happened if he has quality sparring partners.

Again, I totally agree. But as I see it from his point of view, he has to see it from the point of view of casual fans who pays to see fights.

He is a good, young guy, but he allowed hype to get him to a place where hard work is supposed to take a man. Now, he needs a rebuilding plan of 3-5 years.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Dubois take on Chisora after a tune up fight early next year. Dubois needs to be busier in my opinion- tricky in these times admittedly.

You can feel that the casuals aren't watching these fights like they would have been without the pandemic.

That's a boring fight really. Joyce is boring, Usyk was ok at CW but he's boring at HW. I'd prefer someone like Gassiev or even Whyte over Usyk, to face Joyce.

The actual quality of the boxing shown was very poor tbh. Dubois clearly lacking fundamentals.

He quit, softly spoken and soft mentally.

Easy to be wise after the event, but that amateur background is a big plus for Joyce. He's used to dealing with pressure, fighting different styles, and at a consistently high level.

Amateurs aren't the same as the pros, but that ability to compete is something that the top ams often bring. Mental preparation, strategy and all the other intangibles we tend to overlook when we back the flashy guy with the obvious strengths to win.

There's an old adage that the fighters with good records who don't look good on the eye are the ones to worry about. They're obviously doing something right that doesn't get picked up by naked eye.

Joyce has that natural frame to be big at the weight without the muscle mass. Bigger skeleton, bones dont tire muscle does. Its no suprise that fury and joyce two guys that when come in leaner can go the 12 easy
