Mike sold the fight because the guy has this natural energy that people just can't let go, and he got in great condition. People never want to think of Tyson as this aging man, they want tyson to be the baddest man on the planet. I don't know why, but people love to feel the fear of Mike Tyson. Tyson got in such incredible shape that he hit the imagination of the people, " can Tyson look like he was back in his prime?".. Of course not, but overall my god he looked much better in the ring that I could ever of expected. I'm really happy for Tyson, because I hated seeing him losing at the end of his career. This was like a proud way to finish.
This is what I'm happy about. The Williams and McBride fights were a sad way to go out. At least our last images of Tyson in the ring will be him in great shape after training really hard and showing the passion for the sport that eluded him the last several years of his career. It's cool to see him so at peace and having fun.
The power of Tyson, he sold record PPV's against Peter Mcneeley lol and now in an exhibition. Bring on Tyson vs Canelo for 3 million PPV's.
Now we have Buster Douglas calling Tyson out, Evander calling him out, Foreman saying Tyson can be ready for actual contention in a few fights, this is never gonna end.
I think you can also see guys like Canelo fight some heavyweight like Agit Kabayel in a bout with the same rules - 8 rounds, no-decision, to test the waters at heavyweight. Go see the thread in Classic on Tyson-Jones being labeled a no-decision fight. If no-decision fights encourage boxers to fight more, I'm all for it.
This is Tyson, he is well known, believe me casual ppl on street might not even know who these A.J and Fury are. More likely they will know Ali and maybe also Tyson's name. Popular ppl does bring a lot of interest.
