Viktor Faust didn't look up to much on Friday night against Kamil Sokolowski. He looks to have good hand speed and power, but not much else.
Dubois is domestic level. Joyce beats most of the current top ten, which puts him firmly in the world class bracket.
Thanks. And apologies if I sound like an arrogant knowitall with the above. That's not really my intention. Joyce is really one of those fighters I've only really studied due to how many achievements he's made in the sport. If I was just judging him on the eye test I'm not sure I'd rate him any higher than someone like Dominic Breazeale.
No not at all.. I asked for education on what I'm missing and there have been some great posts so far.. Its nice to learn.. I've watched boxing fir along time n every now and then people pop up and I'm like "how the **** do you keep winning" lol
It's sad in a way cos I really want to support Joyce.. He's a nice down to earth guy.. Who are people I'd normally support.. I can't stand arrogant ****s n showboaters.. Recently from the UK.. Josh Kelly absolutely boils my ****
Good hand speed and power is a start. So is being his size. He showed a good chin, has a body attack, and like I said was winner in the amateurs. Not a one punch bomber but very well rounded.
Usyk going to school him again. This will be a good fight and really the test Usyk needs at heavyweight.
Agreed. If he can outpoint Joyce again he's ready to put the spanking on the big stiff idiot and ol' floppy gloves.
His timing is kinda off rhythm in the sense he throws when you don't expect him to throw. Usually when a guy needs to re-set , Joyce has already positioned himself to throw again. Ive very rarely seem him off balance which is strange because thats a fault you'd expect him to have. But his balance his so good he's always in a good position to throw. That ability to keep timing his opponent with non-stop thudding shots off-sets his lack of speed. He must be a torrid guy to go up against! After last night he's probably around top 5 in the world. Age probably isn't going to be an issue for him due to his style and discipline. At least not for another 2-3 years.
I used to feel the same about Froch, wasn't until he first fought Kessler and almost won a fight he under performed in that I realised I had to reassesses my opinion of him.
Well Froch was good enough to be world champion made a lot of money and only lost to the very best including an all time great in Andre Ward. Froch beat several world champions.
