I think he's great, likeable guy, really good attitude and I find it amusing watching his slow-drip style of punishment eventually catch up with his bemused opponents time and again. He's not initially pleasing to every eye but he has a lot of rare talents that will carry him a long way. His chin, workrate, engine/fitness, amateur pedigree, size, jab, footwork, confidence, attitude...the list goes on and on.
It's probably a bit of both: Joyce's jab won him the fight as you say, and I don't remember seeing Dubois move his head out of the way of a jab even once. And on the concluding punch, Dubois basically lunged forward onto a Joyce jab.
Sure. Dubois is decent. And Joyce had pretty much taken control of the fight after the 5th. Dubois had his moments but Joyce was under no threat and easily kept his composure. Joyce might not be top 10, but don´t go downplaying the whole ordeal.
I always respected the guy and this past fight impressed me as I expected him to lose late. He might not be ELITE but the man has footwork, POWER, stamina, high ring IQ and a heart. I think we see more and more of him but he needs to hurry up at his age.
Tough fight for anyone is joyce, he just keeps coming and banging, no change of expression, just always there in front of you pressuring, and thats a nightmare for anybody, tough tough lad. He's a nice lad too, All the best to him over the next year or two. But I'd like to see him fk warren off ASAP after the dire disrespect and total disregard of late. Shame on fwank.
He sucks. Putting up a list of nobodies he’s beaten didn’t make wilder any better than he really was, this guy is even more obvious. He is the slowest man I’ve ever seen competing at this level, which says everything about the level of current heavies when you got both those guys having that type of success. The new hw division, no real talent required, just hit hard or be able to take a hard hit and you can reach the top.
No, I’m experienced enough to not need to invent nuances that don’t exist just to explain what I can’t. I don’t have a history of being wrong.
You don't judge Joyce by the eyeball test because anyone who's shared a ring with him will tell you that it's a lot different to what you're anticipating from watching him on film. They all have a much higher opinion of him after doing so. Here's just two of them Timestamped This content is protected This content is protected
