Pac is the GOAT but RJJ was P4P when Pac was green. Pea was the P4P before RJJ was P4P but Pea was never GOAT. I always felt Pea was green. Until he beat JCC on PPV. May isn't TBE but he was P4P when he was PBF. B-Hop was never even P4P, but he a G anyway. GGG a G too but ODLH might beg to differ.

Both boxers are true p4p greats. The thing for Roy was that he was so gifted in reflexes and speed. When you're that gifted in those departments you kind of get away with making mistakes, and in a way it's the mistakes that lead you to victory because you're so unorthodox. Ali did it, Robinson, and Roy. The problem for Roy was that he was unable to adapt to his age. Ali on the other hand adapted much better to his fighting style as he got slower. Roy still believes he's in his prime, his boxing has not adapted, so later in his boxing career he was paying for those mistakes that he no longer can get away with. In Roy's prime, he was a monster. A genius of a boxer. Very privileged to watch both boxers in their prime. I'm not comparing either one, i'm just happy to watch such masterful boxers.

RJJ p4p was a better fighter in his prime IMO. The guy that embarrassed Toney and Bhop is Contender for best ever p4p.

From 94-00 Roy was better than Pac ever was at any point in his career.

Roy Jones and Ali had a few things in common when they were young as boxingscience pointed out. They both never really relied on traditional boxing skills, they relied on the reflexes of youth. Ali never really slipped punches, he'd do the wrong thing and pull straight back then counter. ,same with Roy. The difference in the two was as they aged was Ali had a chin and could really war if he had to. Roy probably had no better than a middleweight to super middleweight chin and that didn't serve him well later in his career

I rate Pac higher, last night has nothing to do with it. Last night meant nothing in terms rating how good Roy or Mike Tyson were when they were active. It was 2 old guys playing with each other. It wasn't a real fight.

Both carefully orchestrated careers. One was an opportunist and the other orchestrated but also avoided better fights in his prime.

    H2H RJJ > Pac

What's last night got to do with it... Watching Roy Jones zombie in an exhibition isn't effecting his overall standing.... His peak he is still the best boxer I've seen in my lifetime and head to head I'd favour him in his prime over almost anyone

Pac has the better resume and is the best offensive fighter of his generation and I think that I'm genuinely lucky I got to see both

RJJ is the best fighter I've ever seen during his peak. And he had a good long run, even though we forget that because his post-prime career went on longer than his prime.

No, a 51-year-old Roy fought to a draw with a top 10 heavyweight of all-time who is still in his prime based on the 20 second Instagram clips. We can safely say it was the greatest performance in the history of boxing.
