Great heart, great chin, great stamina, great IQ ring, great jab. Should Joyce improve his power adopting for example a kronk style like Fury to be the best? Or what?

Joyce is 35, this is him now. We'll see how far that takes him.

Joyce can't be the best. He is too slow, and near physical decline.

Great win, and good luck to him, though.

Find a time machine and go back 10 years.

He has to maximize his earnings, like now.

That is like saying: "If you add Ali's speed...if you Joe Louis' two-fisted power...if you add Marciano's ability to throw a hundred punches in the 15th round of a fight..."

Yeah, if he were a different fighter he would be better. Agreed.

He lacks power imo. I only wanted to know if he can get it as Fury did before facing Wilder 2 trying to change his style or not

No. The key is that Fury never lacked power, he just fought in a defensive, boxing style that didn't utilize it for most of his career.

Joyce is not Fury. You gotta admit Fury is one of a kind.

I struggle to see what the fuss is about Joyce......so i best go and watch all his previous fights to see why so many rate him so highly. I must be missing something

Obviously you're not the only one. The majority on here picked Dubois and the majority bet on Dubois to win but that just goes to show the majority of boxing fans don't really understand much of the techniques involved in boxing. Most people just see speed and power, some can recognised good punching fundamentals but the less obvious skills most boxing fans overlook.

Even I disregarded his chances when he fought in the Olympics but having watched him there and get robbed in the final I started to think he was better than he looked and as a pro watched all his fights to see what he was doing that was so effective. It isn't obvious otherwise he would of been the favourite but make no mistake he's legit. Good enough to beat the top guys probably not, will probably lose to Usyk if he does fight him next but he's better than he looks.

One thing I'd like to see Joyce do to improve is utilise his sheer strength and size more. He gets compared to Foreman well one thing Foreman excelled at is to physically control his opponents.

Extend the left hand to control his opponents head when they come in, especially useful against fighters that like to come in low. Simply extend the lead left and post it how Fury did vs Wilder. Against Dubois who doesn't move his head it would of been an effective way of preventing Dubois just trying to jump on him and limit his attacks.

i would teach him better punch technique. he hooks too wide and a good boxer will hook inside his and break his face, cause they got all the time in the world to do it.

Fury didnt change his style, he could always fight like that, he just choose to dance a lot during the time he faced wlad, cause he knew it was the smartest and safest way of beating him. He showed against cunningham and chisora 1 that he can brawl if he has to.

32 and 35 is a big difference. After 35 they decline quickly.
