Didn’t make one, I’ve seen both guys before and knew they were completely ordinary already, so didn’t bother explaining how one lousy fighter would outlousy the other. The fanboy delusions are much more interesting to me than those 2 talents. But in the future, if you want to test how much I know, just ask me to tell you what’s gonna happen in the fight and why. Like his next fight, Look, I don’t mind fans talking nonsense about fighters, it’s what this place is for. Let them do their thing, and I’m gonna do mine, which is pointing out the nonsense. It’s worked that way for a dozen years. If I was often wrong, then I would change the dynamic, but haven’t had the need to yet. Being contradicted don’t bother me, cause history ends up siding with me more often than not. Just like reality caught up to wilder, which I said for years would happen, reality is gonna catch up to Joyce. If I’m wrong, I beg you to never let me forget it.
Clear difference between looking **** and being ****. I picked him to win based on my detailed assessment of both guys. He had the better jab, better fundamentals, ring IQ, better chin and was the tougher stronger man.
Fighters that get by like that can be made to look **** though... I thought dirrell beat froch.. He got a gift... I thought kessler would ko him, I had to reevaluate after that... I picked groves to beat froch in 3...i nearly looked like a genius in the pub that night Froch was world class.. But he did look shite.. And under the right circumstances n the right fighter he was very beatable
Froch could be defensively reckless because he had a great chin. Joyce is awkward and unorthodox but he is not an easy nights work for anyone.
I can see where his success in the amateurs came from. He has a great chin, very good jab, good foot and head movement. He has quite a few things going for him. He should make for a solid and fun top 10 contender. Could possibly be a beltholder in the current division tbh.
Jeez, calm down man.. Nobody is saying he's the greatest.. Anyone can see that he isn't but he's an handful for anyone, you're just sitting on the fence saying the crap you are and when he eventually loses you think that makes you look good? Wow. Rightio.. Lol
I thought the same thing but was kinda embarrassed to make the comparison Joyce looks like 90s Foreman to me, with the stiff jab and innocuous looking but powerful short right hands, and then the occasional hooks that he seems to throw in slow motion.
i am calm. youve never had anyone be blunt with you or what? used to having your feeling catered to? i dont sit on fences, i comment on what i want, when i want, and tell it to you straight. you got a question, ask it, and you will get a straight answer. i could have said i picked joyce, if i thought like you and wanted to look good, but i was straight...like i do.
I bet Joyce would be easy work for AJ, Fury and Wilder. He's too slow for those guys. I like Joyce and would be happy if he could prove me wrong. He seems like a down to earth guy.
Fury would beat him, he's just too complete a fighter would box him from range then tie him up up close to take away that crazy work rate of Joyce. Joshua and Wilder I think it comes down to how Joyce handles their power. You'd have to favour Wilder and Joshua to beat Joyce to the punch and lay him out but that's what a lot of people thought about Dubois coming in. Of course Joshua is far less predictable than Dubois I think Joyce get stopped before Joshua gasses out. Wilder though while better than Dubois is also pretty predictable in how he fights. He's a reactive fighter, if Joyce can push him back with the jab and keep on him he would take away Wilder's big right hand and then it's a fight Joyce can win. 50/50 fight right now with Wilder seeming to be a total headcase after the loss to Fury.
Joyce has a jaw like none before, literally, the man took direct bombs from every angle and the worst that happened was he raised his gloves, blinked, smiled, threw a jab and stepped to the side. I had chosen Dubois to win prior, as I thought he would have too much power. I still rate Dubois' power, this just wasn't anyone! I genuinly think there is nobody alive who can KO the juggernaut after what I just saw. It's a points win or nothing if you want to beat Joe Joyce!
