This and more. Many years ago someone posted that Ali worshippers also "marry" the best of the pre and post banned Ali.

In my next Ali response I was going to add that they also mix in the political views they agree with (mainly opposition to Vietnam war) Ali.
What many self proclaimed experts here don't seem to realize is that Ali was not all that admired by many black Ams and thoroughly disliked by most white Ams. But he was backed by much of the media, had the gift of gab and promotion, and then the public's increasing dissatisfaction of Vietnam turned the PR corner for him. The whole almost comedic routine with Cosell didn't hurt.

Overall the best of his era, but hardly this "perfect" god like HW too many still think. He's like a messiah to some.

 

This. Yet Usyk still could never manage to last more than a minute against Ali.

BTW - Ali is one of the fastest fighters ever, regardless of weight class, and has the fastest jab in the history of boxing. And his feet were faster than most of the fastest FW's of all time. And he was a bigger puncher. Of you look at all attributes across the boared, I honestly think/know Ali has a clean sweep.

 

I think Ali is basically Pele of boxing, amazing in his time but not as good as many of the current footballers/boxers. Ali was the same size as Usyk and the biggest guys he fought were the size of Usyk or slightly bigger, Ali had the size advantage in most of his fights also.

I'm not saying he wouldn't beat Usyk, but people tend to really overrate many athletes from 60s, 70s and 80s

 

Man, Ali had the fastest jab in history?? What are u smoking, he had a fairly quick hands for a HW but cmon... tell me Ali was faster than SRL or Amir Khan

 

Just the stupidity of some on here you may find it entertaining but to me it has to be a **** Take....How would Usyk go against a Prime Foreman that might help you with your decision...I suggest Foreman by Murder.!!!
