What a great little heavyweight !

Mike Mollo ,italian american from chicago.won 19 of his first 20 ...always fell short of cracking the top 20...but great little rivalries with polish fighters....very well supported by his hometown fans...took on big guys like mccline, mcbride and golota....great beating of mcbride just after his tyson win....real character...boxing today lacks these hometown heroes...and the old rivalries

I recently watched John Collins vs. Lenny Lapaglia, both also from Chicago. One Irish, one obviously Italian. This from back in maybe '81. Great atmosphere in the arena for that one.

Mollo was in some good fights, thought he had good potential at one stage.

The fight with Andrew Golota on the Jones-Trinidad undercard was a fun fight. Golota’s eye was all busted up

I remember wishing Golota had that type of heart back in his physical prime.
