Eddie Hearn treats BJ Saunders like a child for a reason.

Yes, ticking over; doing push ups and hitting a bag. Not preparing for Canelo though.

Canelo probably always knew that Smith was the guy for December and has had the right preparation for it as always.

Highly unlikely. He was having legal issues with his promoter, his broadcaster, and was also likely talking to various promoters. I doubt he knew with certainty it was going to be Smith.

But Canelo is always in the gym. One thing you can't fault him for is his commitment to training.

Huge props to Canelo for facing the Ring SMW champ with only a 4 week camp.

If he pulls this off I think he cements his place as the greatest fighter of this generation.

My belief is that if your goal in boxing is to be the best P4P, or be a reigning champion, or be as popular and profitable as possible, you need to behave the modern greats when it comes to training. Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, and Canelo Alvarez are always in great shape, its not a coincidence these guys are modern day legends, with the exception of Canelo, all competed at the highest levels way past their primes, were old champions, and often times outlasted the younger prime fighters.

If Callum Smith wants to take six months off out of the year, then by all means he can, but when opportunity comes knocking he shouldn't cry if he isn't in fighting shape. These guys are professionals, their job is boxing, just like we go to work everyday to succeed, so should they if they want to reach their full potential.

There weren’t too many photos of her that weren’t gorgeous back in those days. Hell, she’s still pretty decent right now at 50. I once bought a copy of Harper’s Bazaar magazine in ‘94 because she was on the cover.

Yes she was a stunner in her prime and as you say even this way past prime version of her is still pretty hot.

I remember buying a copy of The Face magazine because she was on the cover of it

Completely agree don’t know what shape Smith stays in between fights but he’s been wanting canelo for a long time so surely he’s been preparing for him for the last few years?
I would have been if I had my eye on one fight on getting to fight a certain fighter then every thing I would be doing in the gym would be in preparation for the possibility of getting the fight.
Canelo does give fighters limited time to prepare for fights but if you are Smith or even billy joe then you have a decent idea that you have a good chance of getting the fight a fight you want why wouldn’t you be prepared?

Saunders and Fury have shown numerous times that they are far more astute than many fighters in regards to the scheming going on in the sport.

Instead of asking why Canelo doesn't just give people proper notice and a full camp like everybody else in major fight negotiations, fans are asking why fighters are not preparing properly while in limbo, without proper sparring or schedules. This is so laughably twisted.

You do realize Canelo has the same amount of time to get ready for Smith, right?

Smith can win the fight. Smith cannot win the decision.
