No. Fury fought at least then champion in one org in Wilder at foreign soul. He get draw and TKO win vs Wilder on foreign soil. In U.S. A.J fought replacement opponent in Ruiz and lost via TKO. In remach he just outpointed Ruiz. Currently Ruiz looks should be higher than A.J. A.J fans might calm down, now he will defeat 39.y.o Pulev.
English is not your first language is it pal. You are fixated on only Ruiz for AJ & Wilder for Fury. What about Parker,Whyte,Martin,Povetkin,Klit all currently ranked in top 20. How many top 20 fighters has Fury beaten?
on current stage. Last fights not all these resumes. Klitschkos both are retired! they aren't ranked everywhere now. Parker is not bad, Whyte too etc. Difference is that Ruiz fought vs then champ A.J and then fought rematch. Fury fought vs then champ Wilder twice and in U.S.
Povetkin? He currently is ranked in top 10. Very experienced and highly skilled boxer. Small for modern HW and he is 41.y.o Impressive amateur accomplishments, good pro resume. He before fight vs AJ looked out of prime.39. technical skills : top 3 definitely. small, 41 y.o. This matters.
Well he did beat Joshua to become unified champion, something only Joshua and Fury have done and he also gave Parker a very close fight. He may very well lose again when he fights a top name again and drop out of the top 10 but right now it's hard not to put him in there when he has one of the best names on his resume.
1- Andy Ruiz Jr 2- Alexander Povetkin 3- Oleksandr Usyk 4- Michael Hunter 5- Anthony Joshua 6- Joseph Parker 7- Adam Kownacki 8- Tyson Fury 9- Filip Hrgovic 10- Joe Joyce
Wilder only lost to Fury and unbeaten Wilder would not lose to Ruiz. (Wilder may have lost to old Povetkin, maybe not. AJ may have lost to Ortiz, maybe not.) But I have a hard time calling AJ better than Wilder unless AJ can beat Fury or maybe if Wilder loses to Ruiz.
Joshua Fury Wilder Povetkin Usyk Ruiz Whyte Hunter Parker Joyce Top two are interchangeable. Wilder is number three only due to his previous standing. I don't expect him to stay there long. Usyk probably shoots past both Wilder and Povetkin in the near future depending on who he fights. Ruiz is unlikely to stay in the top ten unless he gets another big win. Right now he's there by virtue of the Joshua win alone. Hunter is only a big win away from going up the rankings. A win over one of the existing top ten fighters like Parker or Whyte would put him up around the top five level. Parker is treading water right now. He needs to fight someone credible soon or risk dropping out the top ten altogether. Joyce is debatable right now, but I expect him to cement his place shortly.
1. Tyson Fury 2. Anthony Joshua 3. Alexander Povetkin 4. Deontay Wilder 5. Oleksandr Usyk 6. Dillian Whyte 7. Filip Hrgovic 8. Joe Joyce 9. Daniel Dubois 10. Tony Yoka
Many "prospects" in my top 10, but i really believe they're more dangerous for Joshua and Fury than are Whyte, Parker, Hunter and others. 1.Fury 2.Joshua 3.Wilder (i would rate him out of top 10 counting on his real fights) 4.Povetkin (maybe lower based on his age, but i like him 5.Jalolov 6.Hrgovic 7.Arslanbek Makhmudov 8.Usyk 9.Jose Larduet 10.Tony Yoka
I’m surprised Ortiz is not getting any higher ratings than he is he has a good record with several decent names, only two losses to the same fighter
This era looks extremely weak. Except for AJ and Fury everyone is 40 years old or just very mediocre.
