This doesn't means that he had won rematch too.

It is empty discussion without reason.
Lewis was not better in this fight until managed to gave Vitali cut.
    What from this?
    Lewis retired!
Lewis retired and Vitali continued career.
Nothing else matters and this discussion is just useless waste of time without any valuable outcome.

From the USA, they're BOTH considered Euro fighters....I made perfectly valid arguments, no need to make this about race or nationality. That is what losers do when they have no other cards to play

I think the fact that there was no rematch says a lot.

Before the Vitali fight, Lennox spoke of fighting another possible 3 fights. Afterwards, he stayed on the sidelines for 6 months before officially announcing his retirement early in 2004.

The whole boxing world wanted to see a rematch.

    We didn’t get one.

I think Lennox got more than he bargained for and knew that it was time to call it a day.

Vitali got his chance, he lost. Tough ****... Lewis was under NO obligation to rematch anyone. He was about 40 and everyone knew retirement was around the corner.

You argue that Lewis would had beated up Vitali in the rematch.
I do not agree and therefore I'm looser?;) You are joking.
You do not have logical arguments.
    Lewis retired after this fight.
You insist that he had beated up Vitali in rematch too.
You think your arguments with this are more valid than facts? Or Lewis did not had retired?

This still might not impact Vitali legacy etc.
Only in these boxing fans in forums eyes.:p

This loss mattered for him not much regardless what ppl in forums are dreaming about this one.
It was not important and absolutely nothing.
Rematch he didn't had and simply continued career while ppl even today keep discussing about this small loss.

Lewis had originally trained or less so for Kirk Johnson, a lesser opponent. He beat Vitali anyway. Stopped him with massive cuts.
Had there been a rematch Lennox would have trained specifically for Vitali, been in better shape and beat him much easier. Lennox was always tougher in the rematch.
Had he fought Wladimir (they often handed off after a loss) Lewis would have knocked him cold. This was the pre-Manny, bad defense china chinned Wlad that freaked when he got tagged..
Either way Lennox wins. Nothing really to prove and so it made sense to retire. He had plenty money and a solid legacy.

my argument is that vitali's performance was highly overrated. he came out, had a solid opening two rounds, caught Lewis with a decent shot, and basically regressed from the third round on. he got carved up like a turkey and was getting tagged clean by fights end. had the fight continued I suspect he would have been KOd either way.
Lewis had nothing more to prove

I wish Lewis had fought Wlad and knocked him out, so he could be the only fighter to beat both Klitschkos.

Lewis was sloppy against Rahman and lost
Lewis was prepared for the Rahman rematch and destroyed him
Lewis was sloppy against McCall and lost
Lewis was prepared for the McCall rematch and beat him
Lewis was sloppy against Vitali and TKO’d him Rd 6
A prepared Lewis for a Vitali rematch would’ve destroyed Klitschko inside 4 rounds

Did you actually watch the McCall rematch? Lol
Lennox actually acted like a gentleman. He didn't throw punches when McCall was just walking around and talking to himself.
I like when people just read results on boxrec and don't even bother to watch fights.

    What from this.
It does not matters anything. Rematch with Vitali he did not had.
You guys might type what you wish, It was typical old lion's replacement with young lion.
And if some western fighter lost out of his prime fight, then he was not in prime etc.
If out of prime Klitschkos or Povetkin lost fight, then vuala, marquee win and ultimate proof that their opponents might had beated them up in their prime too.
    Really predictable stuff.
I at lest do not claim that 30 y.o Lewis might be not more difficult to defeat than 38 y.o his version.
You guys might insist till end on life that Lewis was better, always will be better etc.
It does not matters any practical thing because Lewis retired and Vitali continued career.
No one seriously takes to his heart these talks.

Doesn't matters what you guys in forums are thinking.
Absolutely does not matter because rematch with Vitali did not happened.
