    Asking the REAL questions here.

I would also question Spences ability to consume massive amounts of cocaine like Oscar.

Doubtful. He'd need a lot more work. ESjr would need to beat Thurman, who's already seen on the slide pre a lot of posters. He already beat Porter. If he beat Pac and TC, that would help a ton. But I don't think that's enough to surpass ODLH at 147.

If he'd beat Thurman, Pac and Crawford without any controversy and then moved up or retired, then, yes, he'd have surpassed Oscar at WW for me. Oscar's era might have been a bit stronger but he was never able to dominate it.

I thought the Whitaker and Quartey decisions at least were both fair though, whereas the Trinidad one was indefensible. I guess it depends on how you think about greatness though. Outperforming a dominant welterweight like Tito while performing well against two other very good fighters with very different styles goes a long way in my book.

Voted for "yes," because I think it's possible, but I don't think it's likely.

And how much longer can/will Spence stay at 147 anyway?

No.. De La Hoyas competition at ww were top notch, and they all fought eachother. If Crawford decides to stay with greedy bob i doubt we see spence vs crawford anytime soon.

Rewatching DLH-Tito right now actually, but last time I had Oscar winning at the very least 7 rds, so I had it as a bad decision as well, and Quartey and Whitaker were close, as you say (I had Quartey by 1 point and Oscar by 1 point against Pea). Yeah, maybe being on the end of one bad decision outweighs getting the nod in two close ones, but for me Oscar has two prime losses at WW any which way.

EDIT: Rewatched the first 10 of Tito-DLH so far and it's maybe worse than I remember. The most I can give Tito of the first 10 is rds 4 and 10 with rd 1 even. My actual score is every round for DLH except nr 10, so 9-1. I actually expected to have it more narrow than last time, but no. It's not that Oscar totally dominated, but with Tito doing so little he did enough in most rounds to leave little doubt in my mind. The official scores were just a shambles imo.

It seems like he will get Pac now, so he'll certainly stay for that if it happens. But I'm not sure he'll stay for Crawford if he beats Pac.

Hopefully, Crawford will face Porter next, and if Spence beats Pac and Bud beats Porter, a fight between them should be lucrative. But that doesn't mean it will happen. Crawford might insist on 50-50 and Spence tell him to shove it and move up.

    How can he?

ODLH has Ike, Pernell, Oba, Rivera, and to a lesser extent, JCC Sr and Camacho sr. ESjr has Mikey, Danny, and Porter.

Was the Whitaker that Oscar just squeezed past better, though?

i voted yes because oscar's achilles heel (and it's a big one) is that he lost all the biggest fights of his career.

oscar's resume is ATG, but his record against top tier opposition (disregard old chavez and sweet pea) is not.

ESJr's top tier would be lucky to be '2nd tier' for Oscar ;)

I think his wins over whitaker and Quartey alone at WW are better wins than anything Spence has done so far. And the fights that can really compare to those fights like crawford pac or thurman, probably wont end up happening anytime soon. Spence moves up in a year or 2 imo.
