It is incredible. Just to put it into perspective, Pacquiao isn't doing these numbers NOW. Pretty sure Floyd wasn't vs Tenshin either. This FIFTEEN years after Tyson retired. Those two could have a rematch in 2035 and it wouldn't do a tenth of this.

Dang!! Much more than I thought. Figured it would do "OK" numbers, but not like this.

One thing to also realize... This wasn't a boxing event. It was a Mike Tyson event with boxing involved.

Good for them. It's not my thing and I wouldn't buy it, but I'm happy these two old goats made some scratch and without getting hurt.

That's because Canelo is a cheater, Floyd's style is not for casuals, Pac is foreign. If course, Tyson is way more popular.

    Nope.

It's because Tyson has had the most eye pleasing style in the HW division since possibly Jack Dempsey and then Ali. Its because he was the HW King in a time when boxing was still extremely popular, and lastly because his character in and out of the ring was captivating.

Canelo, Floyd, and Pacquiao don't even have a 10th of the personality Tyson did.

And because he had a YouTube “star” on the undercard

One reason, Mike Tyson. Biggest draw in history. EDIT: Actually, I gotta give Jake Paul credit. I just checked Logan Paul vs KSI and it did 1.3 million. So he was definitely a factor here. EDIT 2: That was only $10 though... so I still think this was mostly Mike Tyson.

Jesus. If there's any question whether Tyson would be able to lure old, retired fighters into PPV exhibitions, the success of this event should really incentivize retirees to come back. It's incredible that he's still a massive PPV draw.

Get ready for Tyson-Holyfield 3. Maybe we could get Tyson-Douglas 2 in Tokyo for old time's sake.

Gonna be funny watching all the old guys genuflecting to Mike for a fight. Maybe he can fight Floyd

Honestly I've never even heard of that YouTube star. You got some middle aged guys like me just wanting to support Tyson's endeavors. I ran into a bunch of 20 year olds when I was picking up beer that night and they looked and asked me "you watching the Tyson fight tonight?"

Doesn't surprise me. Tyson is arguably the most recognizable star and biggest draw in the history of the sport.

This is great for RJJ and Tyson. I just hope all the active fighters don’t see this and think they too are PPV stars. I’ve seen way to many crappy non PPV worthy matches this year.
