Prime Wladimir beats a number of versions of Fury throughout his career.

He beats him up to and including the Steve Cunningham fight and beats him in all of his comeback versions easily. Only the Wilder 2 version of Fury poses him issues.

Fury beat the worst version of Wladimir in his entire career when he was suffering serious personal issues with a BPD actress wife who had just dropped his son,

    He was also physically shot.

His last prime performance being the Pulev KO. That version of Wladimir would UD Fury.

Younger versions of Fury like the one who was dropped by Cunningham and Pajkic. Or who lost a decision to McDermott you mean?

Fury has been very beatable and was beaten by McDermott already FFS.

It is easy to say now. Truth is, not too many said that Wlad was shot before the fight.

Loads of people said Wlad was shot before the Fury fight.

Infact I remember people calling him shot based on the Jennings fight. Jennings was a fighter that most versions of Wlad knocks out in under 8 rounds.

Name me a HW fighter who wasn’t shot at 39.

Wlad was the favourite. A lot of people thought Fury wouldn't win.

There you go. But the other poster claimed that Wlad was perceived as shot before the fight . I can't remember that

    Definitely wasn't seen as shot.
The general feeling, if I remember correctly, was Fury was in over his head and not taking the fight seriously. It's not as if Wlad looked like a Ali or Louis at the back end, going in to the fight. He looked ready for a scrap.

The feeling at the time was that Wlad was way past his best, had stunk the ring out against Jennings and barely won.

But would edge a win over Fury because Fury wasnt that good and was seen as chinny, and because people expected the judges to be corrupt and give Wlad the win.

No one though at the time thought Wlad was anywhere near his best or even had long left as a fighter. Even he accepted that he didnt have many fights left in the tank.

So lets not try to pretend that Fury's win over Wlad was magnficent . It was a stinkfest against a shot 39 year old who was suffering from personal issues at the time and was messed up mentally.

And yet Wlad when on to give AJ a little trouble.
I know Wlad wasn't near prime but he still had enough to get in shape and beat a lot of heavyweights around then imo.
Would you personally have said Fury would definitely win that night?

So I assume you had it close? Like 114-113. That's 'barely beating'.

You can spin it however you want. Klitschko was clearly beaten. If you wanna talk about punch stats, Fury landed more than double the power punches Wlad landed, and more jabs. If you should blame someone for the fight being boring, you should be blaming Klitschko. Fury threw 140 more punches than him.

I personally thought Wlad would win going into the fight. That was based off it being in Germany and with me expecting it to be a close fight. i thought the judges would likely be scoring it for him.

What transpired in the ring that night was a mental breakdown by Wlad, unable to throw anything until the 12th round. By then the fight was already lost. I would put alot of it down to his personal issues with his BPD alcoholic drug taking actress wife. Who had also just had his son. That whole part of his life, really affected his mental state in the ring.

It was a much better version of a shot Wladimir that faced AJ. But as is the case with 39 and 40 year old HWs, they dont often win against other elite level operators who are in their own primes. Wladimir himself realised that a younger version of himself would have put AJ to bed that night, and thankfully decided to retire afterwards.

Does he beat the Klitschko that was KO'd by Puritty? Yes.

Does he beat the Klitschko that was KO'd by Sanders? Yes.

Does he beat the Klitschko that was KO'd by Brewster? Yes.

Does he beat the Klitschko that amassed a padded record beating old, short or blown up cruiserweights? Yes.

Does he beat Vitali Klitschko? I don't know. But of course he schools Wladimir.
