Might just be me but the nostalgia has got me going on this one. With the matchroom hype machine on him this could be a cracking signing This content is protected
I do think there's potential here. Unlike the sons of former British greats Eubanks & Benn, Campbell is coming into the game with a decent amateur experience and has been boxing since he was young competitively. He's trained by both Matt & Ricky and in a way this path has been laid out for him from an early age, something Campbell has participated in knowing that there's a possible career for him as a professional fighter should he want to take the oppertunity. He's a likeable lad who seems to have the right blend of Rickys attitude to life, as in he doesn't take himself too seriously. And he has Matt's attitude to work. Where it seems he understands the ethics of hard work and dedication. Now this is just what ive picked up over the years of watching Campbell grow up and hearing story's here and there but to be honest for all I really know he could be a right little lout but I don't think thats the case. I personally don't think he's a stand out fighter from what I've seen, altho like I said he does have a lot of experience already but I'm sure this young man is going to be around for the next few years at least, and he has a top team around him, with the right fights at the right time he could go all the way. For some reason, I do really like the lad and I wish him the best
Cracking promotional video. Campbell has been amateur for years now but never really cut it at the top level as a senior. He was a wrecking ball as a youngster but boxing the top amateurs he always came up short. However, his style is very similar to his fathers which meant it doesn't really translate to the amateurs, a lot of the times he would be stifled up close and the ref would usually break them so Hatton couldn't do his better inside work, which is common in the amateurs. He will need time to learn and adapt to the game, as well as a few years so he can fill out and gain his "man strength", but I think he can do well.
He's definitely a chip off the old block. He's also had to mature a lot quicker as he's had a kid at a young age which I think will serve him well, and help keep him away from the temptations of partying till he's broke every time he gets a few grand in the bank.
why not sign with wicky lol not another wbu run with no british title abd un willing to fight fellow compatriots u less there real nice to him and bow to all his needs and kiss his arse ***** off wicky you set the president
I’m jumping on the bandwagon. Massive fan of the Hattons and Campbell seems a good lad, if he’s 10% as entertaining as his old man it’ll be a fun ride
Is his debut PPV or will Matchroom wait for his first crack at the Commonwealth title before doing the right thing and charging fans £25 to watch him ?? Can't wait.
Oh FFS I can hear Hearn in every interview.. "Fans will follow this Story", "The fans will follow this Journey", "He is the Son of a boxing legend" Heard it all before with Eubank Jr, Benn.. it's getting really f'ing boring. As you can probably tell, I'm full of the joys of Christmas
